I woke up with this hymn in my mind.....it is one of the more traditional hymns, written by William Bradbury in 1863. We do a modern version of it sometimes at church, which I love. I love the old hymns. The Lord speaks to people through music and the words of this song always bring me much encouragement.....who better to place our hope in than Jesus, our Solid Rock??

My Hope is Built

My hope is built on nothing less
than Jesus' blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
but wholly lean on Jesus' name.

On Christ the Solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness veils his lovely face,
I rest in his unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

His oath, his covenant, his blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
O may I then in Him be found;
Dressed in His righteousness alone,

Faultless to stand before the throne.
On Christ, the Solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

I love this hymn. I can sing it all by heart.

We have a nice mix of hymns and contemporary worship music at our church, for which I'm grateful.

Thanks for sharing! :~D
