Spring Book Review #2

I just completed this book over the weekend.
The genre is historical fiction based on the tragic events that occured here in NYS, PA, and the nation's capital on 9/11/01.

Normally I don't select Christian fiction to read. I much prefer secular fiction as I find the writing style more challenging, as well as the topics.

However, this book was recommended to me and I have read so many good reviews about the author (Karen Kingsbury) and her writing.
It was fantastic!
In fact, I plan on reading the sequel, Beyond Tuesday Morning.

Parts of it was predictable (as I find with most Christian fiction) but the fact that this moved me to tears in some places impressed me. I don't often get moved to tears with a novel. It has to be a fairly "deep" topic to get me choked up!
The whole idea of 9/11 is gut-wrenching anyways...but...to have a novel that reads as though it could really happen is impressive to me.

I highly recommend this novel. My oldest read both books and did an English essay based on the books....her teacher was impressed! (yeah, Courtney!)

This is a great read for ages 12- adult.

Loved this set of novels. And I really do like Karen Kingsbury as an author.

I have been checking these out for a while. I recently just got into fiction so I may have to pick that up.

I saw your comment on e-mom's blog about lyme disease. I too had a battle with it but mine lasted 7 years because they did not know what it was. I am glad they caught yours. I hope you are well now. I understand what a horrible illness that is. And here in the south many doctors do not believe it exists. So that made it even harder.
Much love,
Angela

You're a prolific blogger. You have a nice diversity of content, which I appreciate. :~D

Honestly, I'm not a novel reader. My shelves are filled with everything but. But this one sounds very good. However, I don't know if really want to relive that horrible day! :~D
