"Even when the rainbow seems to pass right by me....I'm still finding Gold in the clouds....."

Saturday Songs

The song I'm posting is one that the Lord gave me last winter. I am really not a composer. However, over a span of about 20 years, the Lord has miraculously given me songs either to share for a specific purpose or just as a testimony about something He has done in my life.
I shared it at the weekly women's devotional study I joined last year at our end of the year brunch. The Lord gave me this song (unfortunately you won't be able to hear the piano music!) and lyrics when I was kinda "running" from something in my life that He wanted me to deal with. I was running from a truth that I needed to acknowledge and deal with.....a painful truth....and He showed me that His Truth is really all the truth we need, to get through life....if we give Him the things of our soul that keeps us out of His Light. I pray these words might speak to someone....or just to me again as this past week was a tough one!

Running

running, running,
my soul's running
far away from You
trying to outrun Your Lovesong
playing over me---
through me--
Your arms outstretched to reach
my heartstrings, tangled web---
a web of lies, shattered trust--
shadows that don't flee

running, running
my soul's running
fighting from within
believing lies that make the shadows--
never trust again--

the Father's calling, but I am running
as angry tears fall--on the inside--
I cannot hide

Pulling, Pulling,
You are Pulling
my soul into Your Arms
tangled heartstrings will come unraveled
shadows flee away
when Your Light shines and Your lovesong
singing over me---through me--
Truth is chasing me
when Your Light shines and Your Lovesong
singing over me---through me---
Truth will set me free

Faith - that is a beautiful song! I love those words.

The first time I experienced the holy spirit as a young girl, I remember wanting to run...from what, I don't know. Now, I know it was the devil's way to keep me in his grasp. But, we all know how powerful God is and that didn't happen - TY Jesus!

Thanks for sharing today!

Sounds like struggles we all have had...

Thank you Faith! What a gift!

I, too, would like to hear it! The message is ...the words spole to me! I have "RUN" my entire life but thankfully no longer away but TO the ONE whose love is deeper and wider than I ever imagined!

I pray that whatever you encountered this week that made it tough...is gone and broken in Jesus Name and His Light and Truth has once more set you free...

Keep up the writing or composing...
waiting to hear it! Have ablessed weekend! Peggy

wow, Faith, this is beautiful and so true. I recognise myself in it...esp love the line 'shadows that dont flee' so recognise that in my emotional battles. That's exactly what they are...the doubts that keep coming back to haunt you when you think you've shaken them off, they rear their ugly heads again like shadows. Thank the LORD for his light which never burns out and has the power to drive these away as many times as it takes!
