Just Fun Pics and Stuff

Well, it's Wednesday. We're back in our normal (if you can call it that) summer routine. Only there has really been nothing "normal" about this summer at all. I truly feel like I haven't been on vacation yet. July flew by in a whirlwind of ministry activities/duties, and swimming lessons, dental appts, summer course starting, 2 birthdays (my hubby and my oldest), along with the birthdays of 1 nephew, 1 niece, and a sister-in-law...all of whom got cards as we no longer exhange gifts. August brings birthdays of 2 other nieces, a grandma (my mom), and a friend; plus we had car oil changes, camper cleaning, yard work.......

and SoulFest! I can finally start to relax around here other than the normal, daily housework and duties. Ministries are winding down until autumn. It is nice to have a break. OH...and my school supply shopping is done for the elementary child. I can't shop for the high schooler until the evening of the first day of school as she will find out in each class what each teacher requires. It is usually just a folder or notebook...much easier than the younger grades!

Since I neglected to bring my camera to the one evening I actually attended SoulFest (left it in the motel), I will just show you some pics of my youngest daughter, the dancer, a.k.a. the little fish, doing her thing in the motel pool and in Lake Winnipesaukee. Oops, I just saw the time. Ok, the lake pics will be posted tomorrow.

This is where Claire and I stayed while in the Lake Winnipesaukee/Weirs Beach area.
A small motel but....with AC which we needed the 1st and 3rd nites,
and this........
a heated pool!
Claire loves jumping into the deep ends of pools.
Diving wasn't allowed here so she had to make do with just jumping in.
There was another girl for her to swim with named Molly.
Molly was from Canada, about her age, and also attending SoulFest at times.

Yes, those are my toes. At least they're polished!
And Claire's new skill she has mastered this summer is
a handstand with straight legs.
She has always been a little fish so this didn't surprise me.
She is very similar to her big sis when it comes to the water.

So....that's a little glimpse into our mini-vacation.
We were so happy to meet other families at the motel who were also attending SoulFest. Many of us had teens who were camping with youth groups and/or another parent.

OH....I have a praise report!!!
If you have visited here before, you might remember me blabbing about the fact that my teen, who had her braces off about 34 months ago, needs her 4 wisdom teeth removed so they don't undo what the braces did. WELL...we had the consult with the oral surgeon today (he was such a nice guy....and handsome!!!).
After examining her x-ray, he honestly told me that YES, she needs all 4 teeth removed. Otherwise our money we spent on the braces (our dental insurance did NOT cover any of that expense...it was all out of pocket for us) would be wasted. Because YES, those darn wisdom teeth would push her other teeth out and ruin everything the braces did. BUT....he also said that she is too young to have them removed this summer. He suggests waiting until next summer or late spring. This was an answer to prayer as we were told by the company office where my hubby works, that once again, our dental insurance would not pay for this. Our regular health insurance MIGHT. So....I went home feeling much relief that at least all the paperwork, etc. for submitting a health insurance claim didn't have to happen. Yet.
And then I got a phone call.
The oral surgeon's receptionist called. With good news. Actually, great news.
She had called our dental insurance people to double check about our coverage.
She says they told her they will pay 90% of the oral surgery!!!!!
Hoo-Rah! Thank you Jesus!!
(because at $538.00 per tooth, plus $180 for the IV to put my teen to "sleep" it is gonna be one big bill!)
Dave and I will only have to pay 10%!!!
sigh of relief. Glory to God!

Around our house.....that is awesome news.
Now I can finish up little things we need like new sneakers for Claire and enjoy our camping vacation with out stressing about this surgery.

SO....I will post more pics tomorrow. I have rambled on enough for today.
Tonite we will sit down to dinner as a family with no evening obligations. I have a chicken stew in crockpot, and a homemade frozen dessert in the freezer.
Almost time to persuade my daughters to husk corn for me.

And start to pack for Cape Cod!

I am so glad your insurance will pay for this! What in the world is insurance for if not for stuff like this??? I think insurance is a legal way to rip of people. I hate insurance.

Cute, cute toes!

Praise God for His provision! I would have passed out with that bill!

My kids are fish too and spent lots of time in the pool during holidays.

Praise God for those great reports! I am so glad she can wait a year to have the surgery and that your insurance will cover so much of it!

I had to have all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed when I was younger for the same reason. The way they were growing, my teeth were being pushed back out of whack! Just in case I forget a year from now :), I'll go ahead a pray that your daughter's surgery will go well. I'm sure God won't mind such an early prayer. I'm sure you're already praying, too!

Blessings!

Praise the Lord for His goodness! We don't have dental insurance, so taking 4 kids to the dentist for even just regular visits is costly. I can't imagine what it will be like once the visits to the orthodontist start. Whew!

Hi Connie Marie and Susanne,
Yes, Praise God for insurance! Ortho people, dentists and oral surgeons make LOTS of money....I always joke that we are helping our dentist put his kids through college!

Kimberly: Thank you so much for your prayers! And for taking the time to tell me you are praying!

Mrs C.: I don't know if you know this already but sometimes medical insurance will cover some dental work. If our dental plan hadn't covered the oral surgery, the medical would have covered some of it. They don't however (at least ours doesn't) cover ortho as they consider it "cosmetic". Sad, but true. You might want to check out your med ins. just in case!
