Bloggin' Break

Hello Friends:
I need to take a blogging break this week.
Besides going off to the teaching job every a.m. my afternoons this week are full with an ortho appt, avon deliveries, and housework. And we have evening committments each and every evening this week. Mondays are always reserved for Claire's extracurricular church activity where I also volunteer to serve (the drama/dance/music ministry, HizKidz Praise!). Tuesday after Claire's ballet class, Dave and I have a leadership meeting at church, which means our dinner time will be a quick one. Wednesday, I have the first PTA meeting at Claire's school.
Thursday is Courtney's Open House at the high school and Dave has his junior high small group to lead. Which means I get to go to Open House by my self. Ick. I am sure to get lost. The school is huge and Courtney's classes are all over the place.
Friday evening we are babysitting for my new niece while her big sister and parents attend a wedding where her big sis is the flower girl. My niece is only 3 months old so it should be fun to have a baby in the house again even if it is only for a few hours.

So....that's my week.

I am thoroughly enjoying Sacred Pathways by Gary Thomas. It is so awesome to read a book that describes the different ways we feel close to God (some of us just don't do well with traditional devotions) and the different ways to stay connected to Him. If you've never read this book, I highly recommend it. I'l be doing a book review when I complete it.

I'll be back by the weekend!

The picture shown above is a road near the Lake George area of the south-easetern Adirondacks.

AND......
"See You at the Pole" is on Wednesday, Sept. 24th

This is a day set aside for Christian students to join around
their school flagpole and pray for their school(s), friends,
other students, teachers, staff, administration.

My oldest daughter plans on joining with the school Life Club (the on-campus Youth for Christ club open to freshmen-seniors) and other Christian teens from our church and other area churches. This is huge because our high school is huge....we have over 2,000 students and although many of them are in churches, not many of them know the Lord in a personal way. One of the high school principals just accepted Christ so this is awesome news! (we have 2 hall principals and 1 building principal). Several of the teachers and staff are Christians as well we are finding out. So.....please pray for our students around the nation who are being bold for Christ and taking a public stand to pray among their peers.

If you homeschool: how about leading your children who are learning at home in praying for their peers who are in public schools? We could use all the prayers we can get and it would make a great lesson for your children in how Christian teens stand up for their beliefs when they are in a secular setting. Thanks!
