Monday Musings 12

FOR TODAY

Outside my Window..mostly cloudy, grey, some sun trying to shine through

I am thinking...about the special speaker we heard at our Missions Conference yesterday at church (the son of one of the missionary pilot who was killed and featured in the movie "End of the Spear")

I am thankful for..my part time teaching job

From the kitchen...tomato-basil-orzo soup, garlic bread and peach cobbler

I am creating...a scrapbook of our camping/kayaking vacation

I am going..to my youngest daughter's rehearsal tonite at church

I am wearing...my work clothes: black, cotton capris, white lacy tee, black cotton cropped cardigan, gold earrings and gold/pearl heart necklace

I am reading...from the book of Isaiah in the Bible; Quaker Summer by Lisa Samson and Sacred Pathways by Gary Thomas

I am hoping..that it is sunny on Saturday for my hiking trip

I am hearing...the hum of the other computer

Around the house...vacuuming in dining room needs to be done, dusting of the piano, 1 bill to pay, sheets to wash

One of my favorite things..the scent of the kitchen candle (apple-oak)

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week....HizKidz Rehearsal tonite where I am serving as a devotional leader, a trip to the town library, a hair appt, a Moms in Touch prayer mtg, the homecoming football game (am driving my daughter and her friends; another mom will bring them home), a hiking trip; a Sat nite dinner date with my youngest while my husband is on the junior high youth retreat and my oldest is at the Youth Center.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...
a Sandcastle that my oldest daughter (Courtney) and her good friend (Noelle) made together on Labor Day at a local state park/lake where our 2 families had a relaxing get together. They made this with minimal implements and lots of time. I like how the sun is glinting off the lake's edge. She took a nice pic, don't you think?

Where do you get an apple oak candle?

Village Candles make the Apple-Oak scent. I bought it from our local Hannaford grocery store in the gift dept.

Love the sand castle....so creative!
Sounds like a busy week.
And I will have to check out the apple-oak candle, sounds great for this time of year.

Very nice sand castle indeed!

I was just catching up and reading your post below about watching your baby niece...

I think I'd feel the same way. Sometimes I look at newborns and miss those days, but I know I'm forgetting all those sleepless nights!

How wonderful to have that special guest at your church!
And speaking of Christian movies, come over and read about the movie my husband and I saw Sunday night...I highly recommend every couple see it. I've been thinking about it all day today!

Blessings,
~Tammy

The soup sounds delicious! If you get a chance, could you please share the recipe?
