"Even when the rainbow seems to pass right by me....I'm still finding Gold in the clouds....."

18 October 2008

I received these little nuggets of wisdom from my friend and leader of Moms in Touch, in an email today. (thank you, Dorrae!). I really liked these and I actually already do some of them. Dorrae had gorgeous flower pictures with the email but I couldn't get them to copy for me to post so I am using different autumn/harvest pictures. If you like this, please feel free to copy it!

Go to bed on time.
Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.
Say No to projects that won't fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health.

Pace yourself.
Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together.

Take one day at a time.

Separate worries from concerns . If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety . If you can't do anything about a situation, forget it.

Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases.
Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.

K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.
Do something for the Kid in You everyday.

Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.

Get enough rest.
Eat right.
Get organized so everything has its place.
Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life.

Write down thoughts and inspirations.

Every day, find time to be alone.

Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray.

Make friends with Godly people.

Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).
Sit on your ego.

Talk less; listen more

Slow down!

Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.

Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful for that you've never been grateful for before.

Say I love you to your children. Often. Every a.m. Every nite.

Always kiss your husband good-nite!

Psalm 23

"The Lord is my Shepherd. I shall lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters,
He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for His name's sake.
Even though I walk through the
valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for You are with me;
Your rod and staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love
will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the
House of the Lord

That's a good one...and sadly, one I need to be reminded of!

These are great! Thanks for sharing!

These are great, Faith. The get to bed on time and get plenty of rest is one I constantly struggle with. Others too, but that one in particular is really my nemesis.
