Friday February 6 Faves

Can you believe it's Friday already? This week really flew by! I guess because we have been nice and busy and productive yet we have also had some nice "quiet times" and "down time". I do know one thing though....I am very weary of winter...especially of the weather. But....I can rejoice that the Lord gives us daily blessings and is watching over us and that He will allow spring to come again!

SO....here are my 5 favorite things from this past week.

This is by far my most fave picture from this past week. I ran into it on Facebook. These 2 adorable children are my youngest nieces. They are the daughters of my youngest sister, Jill, and her husband Mike. The big girl of almost 6 is Emma looking in the window. The baby is Mady (Madelyn) who will be 1 in June. The pic is titled "Coming Home from School" I just think it is so darn cute and I am guessing that Mady is very excited to see her big sis...especially if they are anything like their older cousins, Courtney and Claire :) I am a lucky aunt. They only live about 1 hour north of us!

These adorable Valentine mugs from Currant, Inc. I ordered 2 of these and had them personalized for Courtney and Claire. I plan on filling them with Valentine M & M's to give them on 2/14. We typically just do a bit of candy and a novel but this year I couldn't resist these mugs and they were not pricey at all! They can use them for hot cocoa for their afterschool snacks. They are not expecting these and I think they will love the surprise!
What would my fave 5 post be like without anything related to food or drink?? Seriously, this French Vanilla coffee by DD has been my fave afternoon snack drink all week. I think I drank it every afternoon this week except Tuesday. (I had my Moms in Touch mtg and we don't do coffee at the mtgs). It really chases away the chill on a bitter cold day and makes for a nice break from my afternoon housework. It even helped a headache I had yesterday after getting home from the classroom.
My husband wanted to cook dinner on Super Bowl Sunday which was just last Sunday. I consider it a blessing when he volunteers to cook...I just wish he'd clean up the kitchen as he goes...but...hey...at least he gave me the nite off! lol He and my youngest made wings, a veggie tray, dips, and drinks to order. My teen ordered a mountain dew (ick!), my youngest wanted water (smart) and a little mountain dew and my husband made me one of my all time fave drinks: rum and coke. Unfortunately, I wanted diet coke with it and he bought regular. But...hey...I only had one! The rum was good and it had been a long time since I had had one of these. Sunday evening was one of my favorite times this past week.

These white paper plates were a favorite accessory for me this week! Scroll down to the post under this one to find out how and why! Go ahead....see what the Lord is doing.....

And one thing I am always a fan of each and every week are the comments left by friends both near and far....so....leave me a comment and I'll come visit you!

Do you have any favorite things from this past week? Please share!

Do you have plans for the weekend?
We have a couple of teens baking cookies in our kitchen for a "servants project" that my daughter's small group is doing for one of the boys groups. The girls are baking chocolate chip cookies and I will kind of oversee that project. Then the teens will eat dinner with us and we will get them over to their life::group and Emerge event on Sat evening. Claire and I plan on starting her Valentine Cards for her class party. Dave is gonna work on the taxes....yeah for Turbo Tax!
Courtney will have HW to complete on Sunday and Claire has a 2 hour dance rehearsal after church therefore we are attending the early service at 9 so she can come home to eat lunch. I plan on getting more reading done and soaking in the 3rd part of our Holy Spirit sermon series.

I loved visiting your blog today.. And thanks for stopping by mine.

Those mugs are adorable. I would especially love the M and Ms inside :)

And your story below of the "skating" on paper plates reminded me of our kids here in Florida who "sled" down the grassy slopes on cardboard scraps. It is so funny to see.

I too, and a huge fan of Katia and Sergei. It was a horrible loss.

Have a wonderful weekend.

I need to try that coffee, it will be a pleasant change from the dd coffee you get at their shops with the flavor shots, I miss the days when they brewed their own french vanilla and hazelnut coffee! I love the mugs that you bought for the girls!

Happy fave fives to you. That photo of your nieces is adorable. Ok that would be a very interesting activity to do with the paper plates. I'd probably fall and break a hip. But then you'd be right there with the rum and coke to help the pain.

What a sweet pic of your nieces. Somebody captured a great shot!

Those mugs are adorable. I hope one of the girls doesn't read your post or the cat will be out of the bag. LOL.

This is great Faith. I love the picture and the mugs. My kids are begging for snow but it looks like 60-70 degree temps for this week. I did grow up in the Northeast though and that picture brings back memories of playing in the snow. I think I told you that my parents used to live in Clifton Park right near Albany, right? Small world.
