Tonite I am cooking rather than ordering out. We usually order something on Friday evenings but....we are trying not to do that so much what with Memorial Day weekend coming up, a trip next weekend for Mother's Day and also our Summer Vacation is slowly creeping up!
This time of year gets pricey, too, with end of the year book fairs, activities at school and church, concerts.......for those of you with children in school, you know what I mean!
Some of you were asking about how Courtney is doing: the Accutane is amazing! She has had no serious side effects other than the very dry skin but she is taking care of that quite well. It has made her hair dry but again, she has been doing well with that side effect. We will find out today if she will continue for 2 more months of treatment or if there is just one month left. Her blood work has been fine but the cholesterol IS creeping up so this might be the last month for the Accutane. She has had no major breakouts and now we just have to fade the red marks left and she has foundation for covering any scarring that she does have a little of on each cheek. She has been great and her attitude has been very positive. So...thanks for all your prayers regarding my oldest...I so much appreciate it! OH...and she made Honor Roll this quarter (she missed High Honor Roll by 1 percentage point!) AND was the only one to receive 100% on her report card for Math 11R!! I am one happy Mama (oh, and Claire had all A's as well on her report card 2 weeks ago...the high school report cards come out later than the elementary ones.....)
And now...on to the Fave Five things from the past week. And a huge THANK YOU! to Susanne at Living to Tell the Story for hosting this each week.

This picture I ordered from The Country House. I have always wanted an old hymn print for over my piano. I happened to be looking in the Country House magazine last month and spotted Amazing Grace in a picture form! I ordered it right away. I like that the frame is a good match for my cherry piano.
I have waited years for this!!

These snack foods. The strawberries and blueberries were on sale this week as were the purple grapes. The crackers are my snack in place of chips. They are awesome! And since I am the only one who likes them, they last longer than a week! My children have been enjoying the fruit as an after-school snack and I love blueberries on my cereal every a.m. Daddy makes banana-berry smoothies for the girls as a fun dessert. Definitely a fave around here!

My 10 year old, Claire, holding the hose and helping her friend Charlene wash my hubby's car. So much fun last Saturday afternoon. It was a hot day...hot for April here in NY anyways.... Charlene was over for a play date and the girls kept cool with the hose. Charlene is one of Claire's good friends from church and HizKidz Praise! Children having fun and helping with chores always make my Fave Five list!
My last fave thing from the last week is my "quiet time" meditations I have been engaging in after work or in the early mornings. You will need to scroll down to the post below this one to read what I am currently meditating on.
I hope you all have a wonderful start to the weekend......
please leave me a comment with what your favorite things are from the last week!

I enjoyed reading your faves today, and I'm so glad that Courtney's regimen is working out! :)
Looks like your daughter and her friend are having a grand ol' time, nice FFF list!
I love, love the picture of the cherry tree! Blooming cherry trees are definitely one of my favorites.
Grapes, blueberries and strawberries are a fave of mine too. I haven't tried those crackers yet.
Glad Accutane is working for your daughter. My SIL used that years ago and has done fine ever since.
Great job to your daughters for doing so well with their school work. Its always good when our children show faithfulness in that area.
Aj's birthday 4 wheeling/picnic is at the top of the list, warm spring days, first butterflies, birds in the trees, my son and his wife back home from vacation, my college son getting A's in his hard classes... ok, I will stop.
Look at the girls with the hose. They look like they are having so much fun! It's not quite that weather here yet.
Love the Amazing Grace music print. It's very nice.
Congrats to Courtney and Claire on their great grades!
I have seen that Amazing Grace print before and also thought it was cool. What a special print to hang by the piano!
Great job to your girls on their report cards!!!
Congratulations to Courtney and Claire! Great Job!
You asked for my favorite things from this week...
My older girls are finished with their course work and are awaiting their exams.
Bethan is enjoying having her own room and is as cute as a button...
Linds had yesterday and today off, working around the house with things that I can't do. :)
He picked me my favorite flowers purple and white violets!
So much to be thankful for!
The Amazing Grace print is beautiful! What a great idea to hang a framed hymn over the piano. My mom and dad have had a decoupaged hymn hanging in their den for as long as I can remember, and I've always loved it.
What yummy and healthful snack foods.
Lol, never mind about the dandelions... we have plenty in our front lawn too. Your cherry tree is gorgeous... ours only gave us half a show this year. I think the late frost must have hurt it somehow.
Hoses and hot weather already?
Wow!
Hugs, e-Mom
A beautiful picture for above your piano. Isn't it nice to find the perfect thing after waiting all that time!
Looks like the girls were having lots of fun - and getting the car clean!
Your cherry blossoms are beautiful - ours are coming but it will probably be a week or two yet.
I enjoyed reading your list. I also enjoyed your pictures especially the cherry blossom tree. It's beautiful.
What a happy list this week! Love the cherry blossoms and dandelions!
loved this list, especially the framed hymn and the cherry trees!
It finally feels like spring here, in Alberta....no leaves on the trees or blossoms yet, but soon.
