Sweet 16!

SO...it's the middle of the week of HizKidz Praise Summer Camp.
We have 2 more days of camp/rehearsals and then the show is Friday evening!!

We have invited lots of new and old friends and family.....and the public is invited.....it's gonna be great! The classes have gone well; the rehearsals are going great, and all the technical stuff is being worked out!

And.....a local news station is coming to Dress Rehearsal tomorrow to interview a few of the children and do some footage of our rehearsal to be shown on the evening news...GOD IS GOOD!

Our main theme this week has been that God has made us all unique with different giftings to be used to serve one another and the body of Christ.........I am so thankful to be in such a ministry...it truly is a pleasure to serve!

SO...although it has been a busy week, I finally had some time tonite to post some highlights of my oldest daughter's "Sweet 16" birthday party.
The party was actually the evening before her birthday, on July 10th.
She had GORGEOUS weather for this!

Almost all of her church and school friends made the party and even 2 friends from our former church were able to be here....she was so happy.........

It is weird having a 16 year old.....she is changing.....she is studying the DMV booklet to get her learners permit and then at the end of August she will be practicing on the cars.....sigh....time goes by so fast...but I love every different developmental stage.....I just wish THIS stage didn't come with so much angst......there is Sooo much drama! But she is a great kid, loves the Lord, loves to serve in her youth ministry and with the Summer Camp and is even doing a 2 day a week internship at the church. We are quite proud of her and look forward to all the changes yet to come!

I thought I'd have to special order pink and black M&M's
but a local store actually carries them!

The only time I will pay $10.00 for a balloon....
for a Sweet 16 party!

Still dancing!

Doin' the "Cha-Cha Slide"!
All the girls except, except for one, loved to dance!

The girls had a blast dancing on the backyard lawn.

Courtney's friend, Karissa, in the green shirt on the left,
gave her a princess tiara....gee...
just what my drama queen of a teenager needs!

Sixteen!
July 11, 2009

For those of you who don't have a teenager yet.......get prepared...they LOVE their parties and wow.....it was almost like planning a wedding reception!

And a HUGE Thank You to those of you who knew Courtney was dealing with some kind of weird virus......she is much better now after 4 days of being weirdly tired and sick feeling......we know it is the power of prayer from concerned friends.

Happy Sweet 16 Courtney! It looks like you did a great party for her Faith! I am going to have many 16th birthdays coming up soon. My son, Josiah will be 16 in November and I have two daughters who will follow each year after that. Oh Lord Help me! Give me your ideas of how to make their day great and make them feel special. Your ideas God! And give me the strength to make it happen. :)
Thanks for sharing your day,
Christy

I am sure it is hard to believe she is 16! She looks great, and it seems like she enjoyed her special party! :)

This post makes me all teary, Faith. I remember our daughter's
16th so well... time flies by!!!

Oh, my yes... every party from here on out is like a wedding reception. Girls just love their social events. When the wedding reception DID arrive (last year) our daughter planned the whole thing herself, with aplomb. We were so impressed.

This event looks like a barrel of fun (but tiring?). You have a lovely green landscape, and a neat neighborhood. :~D
