Serving.....

HAPPY THANKSGIVING,from Plymouth County, MA.

My husband and I are here, at the family beach house, celebrating the holiday with his parents and 3 siblings, and their spouses and children. I am so thankful that we decided to serve in a local church's soup kitchen. What a blessing it is to be a blessing to others. One little girl ( preteen) said that this dinner was the best use of her napkin all week. In fact, it was the first full meal she had had all week. This impacted all of us.
The clients were so thankful and we were so humbled.
This just might become an annual event!

So....here it is, Thanksgiving evening, and we enjoyed a pasta meal together...14 of us! And tomorrow we will gather around the tables to have our own Thanksgiving feast.

I have some great pictures of the nieces and our nephew serving, and of my 2 daughters.....I will be posting them when I return to NY. We were all snapping pictures of each other serving because this was the first time we had done something like this, as a whole family. The clients had so much fun watching us and we had so much fun getting to know them. One client chatted with my youngest about how he used to be a dancer!

If you have never served the needy on Thanksgiving, I highly recommend it. It is an amazing experience and really helps you put things in perspective. It is humbling.....how rich we are compared to so many others....this was so good for all of us....from my 8 year old niece, Debi, right on up to my 70-something father in law.

"Give thanks unto the Lord for He is good"!
