Not much time to blog this weekend.....
Christmas was a wonderful day with my children and husband and then we traveled north a bit to the Lake George area where there is LOTS of snow.....we of course had another green Christmas here in the capital region of NYS. As I write this on Sunday a.m., we have partly sunny skies with warm temps and it rained last night! My daughters are hoping for a big snowstorm for next Sunday so that we won't have to go back to school on Monday...that would be neat!
Yesterday, my daughters re-organized the basement playroom area and I organized the storage area. Dave painted the ceiling of our half-bath off the kitchen and today and tomorrow we will paint the walls. I chose a pale Pine Green color to replace the colonial blue sponge painting I did way back in 2001. Yup.....a fresh coat of paint will do wonders.....we were gonna tile the whole thing but decided this was cheaper and quicker! Eventually we will replace the flooring (I have white laminate) with a light tan stone tile. That can wait, however! The good thing about painting with a new color is that now I get to order from Crate and Barrel and purchase some new towels!
But...this morning I am home from church with my 11 year old who doesn't feel too great: achy, tired....might be just a virus or might be just from staying up too late the last few nights. Because our church service ( the 11 a.m. one) is now broadcast online via the church's website, live, I can head over there in a few minutes to hear the praise and worship and watch the sermon.
So...I am at home with Claire and reflecting on a post I wrote a while back.
I'd like to share it again with you all so just click on the following link and may the Lord give you rest and a renewing of your soul this weekend......He is so good to us!!!
And....come on back here in the next few days as I attempt to post some things He is showing me about friendships, spending time with people who are important in our lives, marriage, and parenting young teens.......
ENJOY THE SABBATH!!

You're a prolific blogger, Faith. Even in the midst of Christmas, you continue to keep us all updated. Thanks!
Trusting your family time (LOL, "without electronics") was restful and also productive. (Painting projects are so easy and affordable!)
(((Hugs)))
P.S. I don't think we could ever enforce a "without electronics" rule around our house. Oh well... :~D
I actually wrote this post in place of going to church :) My youngest woke up achy and a bit feverish although 12 hours later she was absolutely fine so....probably she just needed to sleep in and relax...we had some very late nights and of course we had school right up until xmas eve day. We are enjoying the week off at a much more leisurely pace! I am on the blog a bit more now too as I want to get some writing done for devotional purposes.
Faith I can not believe you have not had snow. We had 2 storms so far. Where were you in Lake George? I bet they have lots of beautiful snow up there. Painting sounds good, it's amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do. The pine green sounds nice, sounds like something you would pick. LOL!
Nope...no snow here in the capital region. however, yes, Lake George has about 8 inches. 2 of my 3 sisters live just south of there by about 5 miles or so. We are supposed to get a snow storm for friday though although I'd rather it waited until sunday nite or early early monday a.m. to extend our vacation :)
yes the pine green is similar to the green background of my home page here. altho depending on your computer it might look like puke green...lol...on the walls it looks like a pretty sea green....the trim is still pine wood and the fixtures will go from cream to white.
