Back in the Routine

Well, I can now say that yes, it is really winter. I hate to admit it but...it's true. It was only 21 degrees when I sent my youngest out to the bus stop today and got in my car to drive to the school where I teach part time. I am so thankful for my job but.....I so much would have rather stayed in my house drinking mug after mug of coffee and reading!
I am enjoying the latest Dan Brown novel.  Do any of you like his books?  I am actually liking it better than the Da Vinci Code!
But....back to the routine is on order for around our house.
My youngest begins her 2nd semester of the drama ministry she is in at church.  My oldest begins again with after school club requirements and she is preparing for mid-terms.  The junior year in our school district is a rather rigorous one.  Plus she has the 2 "university in the high school" courses she is taking.  But...she will be fine. She tests well.

I am leading the Moms in Touch group!  So far there are only 2 of us who are planning on meeting but 2 is better than none!  We will meet on the last Friday of the month.  I am very excited to be taking over this ministry from a good friend of mine (Thanks, Dorrae for your encouragement!) who had to stop leading it to return to the workforce!  Because I only teach part time, I am able to host this prayer  group right in my home in the early afternoon.

This morning in my devotions, I was reading about being forgiving to all.  Even when we don't feel like it, we need to forgive, don't we?  And it really does free up our souls!  I am so thankful for the forgiveness that Christ extends towards me...how can I NOT forgive others who might hurt me?  And we need to be kind, tender-hearted and merciful..........when I was thinking on that, I was reminded that Jesus was always merciful.....we are to be "like Jesus" as much as we are able in our human-ness so therefore we need to extend mercy and grace to others.

Well, I am home from work now and the morning went better than the classroom staff, including my self, predicted.  Everyone was in attendance and the little guy I work with, although late to school, did not seem to regress much over the break.  That is good news!!

I am planning on doing the next Marriage Monday post which will be something centered around Valentine's Day according to E-Mom from Chrysalis blog.  That will happen on the first monday of February so come on back for a fun topic relating to valentine's day and our spouses.

Time to go tackle some of those Christmas bills.......with a huge mug of coffee in my hand....mainly for warmth.....brr......

Happy Winter, everyone!

We are back to establishing routines again. It's a good thing my youngest's orchestra teacher emailed everyone about lessons today or I would have forgot. LOL. I actually got the week after Christmas off and it's amazing how easy it is to get into the relax mode when not having a schedule to attend to. Mugs of coffee and lots of reading were also on my agenda all last week. No more, have to crack the whip over myself. :v)

We're having quite the winter too. It started snowing again last night and it is still coming down this morning.

Yes, it's definitely winter! All those Christmas decorations take the chill off don't they? Well, now they're packed away, and reality (and routines) have set in. I like your idea... a huge mug of coffee... off I go to get one-- and a little breakfast!

Thanks for the Marriage Monday promo, my friend. :~D
