New Look....Sorta.....

Ok. Well, my half bath is....um....half done! lol....seriously, Dave did begin the paint job on the walls.  It needed 2 coats of this new "pine green" from the "Sea" collection by Olympia to cover the ocean blue sponge painting job I did way back in 2001.  We still have an "ocean" theme but I have really simplified that small space.  Almost everything is off the walls and shelf and I got rid of a shelf and just have one towel ring. That is all we need for a half bath.
In another month or so, we will have the new toilet installed and we are getting a pedestal sink.  The ceiling is totally done and once the sink goes in, a 3rd coat of paint will grace the walls.  We might end up tiling the floor next year as well although the laminate in there is not too bad....just hard to keep pure white sometimes! I feel like I constantly mop in there!!  Once the new toilet is in, we are adding an "over the toilet" cupboard and getting rid of the wicker one we have on the wall.

Ok..this computer is not doing a good job of showing the true pine green.
I have no idea what this blog will have this color end up looking like.
Maybe it depends on one's computer?
Think Sage Green which is really what it is....
it matches the sage green berries on this shell wreath.
This wreath is currently over the toilet.
It will move to replace the white wicker cabinet shown below
once the new toilet and cupboard are in.

This will be replaced by the "over the toilet" cupboard.
In the drawer are the "over the counter" stuff.
The tart holder is from my good friend and neighbor, Melissa, for my birthday.
(Thanks, Melissa!...i LOVE it!)
The tarts are magnolia scented.
The glass has shells from Cape Cod and Aruba.
The colored sand bottle was made by Claire when she was 6.
The grey lighthouse is one that Courtney helped me choose from a
Cape Cod souvenir shoppe one year.

I simplied this wall next to the sink.
I like thick, white towels and the pic is one I have had for years.
It shows a boy and girl sitting on the beach.

This is the corner next to the sink.
Eventually that basket of towels will be on the bottom, open shelf of our new cabinet.
guess how much I paid for that sea-shell basket?
It was only $1.99 from The Xmas Tree shoppe about 10 years ago!!
The white stool is from my sister, Hope,  who no longer wanted it.
She was gonna throw it away!
I touched it up with white paint a couple of years ago.

This picture replaces a collage of pictures I made when my oldest was about 3 years old.
The collage depicted many scenes of the 3 of us at various lakes, rivers, and the Atlantic ocean.
There was even one of Dave and I in Aruba playing in the Carribbean
and one of the 3 of us at the edge of San Francisco Bay.
But....because Claire was not in any of the pics,
I decided to take it down and keep in the basement.
This shell picture was less than $5.00, again from The Xmas Tree shoppe.
I like a touch of blue with the green.

So...that's about it for around our house today.......it's back to ballet with Claire tonite and last night she had her first meeting for the next HizKidzPraise show which will be performed at the end of March.  I have laundry and some kitchen cleaning to do before shlepping her to ballet and chatting with my teenager.

Is everyone settled back into a good routine after the holidays??

I'm having to imagine the color but I know sage green so it's not too hard. I'm almost seeing a grey blue. I love redoing different rooms and this looks so fresh. I've never tried white towels, but I love the spa look so maybe I'll head that direction whenever we happen to a bath makeover.

Some good progress in your bathroom... it takes time and money!

Is the sage green similar to the green of your blog's background? If so, very pretty. I like all your accents... to us they all look new. Who would have guessed some are old, some are new, and some are even hand-me-downs?

I have a contemporary tropical beach theme (Island Style) going through our whole house... love it!... and hopefully WE will get to Aruba some day too.

Have a wonderful weekend, Faith.
