First Random 12 of 2010

Linda at 2nd Cup of Coffee has some interesting random questions for today.
Feel free to play along, by linking up to her over here.

1. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being a cranky-baby-hissy-fitter, how much of a complainer are you?

it depends on my mood! Sometimes I am super content and don't complain at all......I just go with the flow...other times, like if there is shoddy service at a store, etc. I do complain but probably only on the level of like a 3 or 4.  My husband has often heard me complain about him procrastinating on certain household jobs so he'd probably give me a 9 or 10!

2. When someone else is talking, do you listen, or are you thinking about what you're going to say in response?
If it's a friend who is sharing something from the heart, I really try to listen, using the skills I learned as a "peer counselor".  Sometimes, though I just tune people out...like when my teenager is whining that "it isn't fair".  Seriously, most of the time, I am a listener who unfortunately also tries to "fix" things...which is not always a good thing!

3. I just deleted 1062 messages from my email account. Do you have any plans for a clean sweep this month--of anything?
lol...yeah...I'd like to get my garage all swept out...but very unlucky to happen while road salt is still carpeting the streets!  I  do have MANY inbox msgs from way last summer on my Facebook account that I really should delete!  I certainly haven't counted them like Linda has though :)

(And now, here are some brilliant questions from a gal named Angie at Angie's Ad Lib who graciously offered to let me borrow her brain. Please go over and see Angie because it was so nice of her to help me out. Thank you so much, Angie!) taken from Linda's blog.

4. Tell us about your perfume. Was it a gift? What does it remind you of? Do you have a signature scent?

I have several scents I like but they are body sprays. The only perfumes I have are ones that my Avon lady recommended, who happens to be my sister!  They were both gifts. To my self!  My absolute favorite scent is honeysuckle. My 2nd favorite is Coconut/Lemongrass which I have in lotion, spray and shower gel. Mmmmm...
the perfume is "Wish of Happiness" although lately my nose isn't liking it..it has begun to make me sneeze :(.  And I have "Earth" which reminds me of a walk in the woods. Seriously...it smells like the pine woods where I love to hike. It is by MARK for Avon.  I used to LOVE "Happy" by Clinique but.....too pricey for me these days.

5. What is your best organizing tip for the new year?

bins. lots of bins and wicker baskets. and SIMPLIFY!!! either that or hire a personal assistant!

6. What is your favorite comic strip?

I have always loved Peanuts.....and Bloom County.

7. Do you sleep with a fluffy or flat pillow?

Fluffy and cold.

8. What color is your kitchen? Why did you choose that color?

Cabinets are pine colored but the wood is oak. Walls are eggshell white. Counter tops and appliances are white/white on white.(except for the stainless steel microwave) Accessories are "country colors": blues, greens, tans, some yellows. Supposed to be "earthy".

9. What’s the most interesting bumper sticker you’ve seen?

I honestly don't pay attention to most but....my father in law was probably the first person to have that annoying fish one that says Darwin in the middle and has legs. good grief.......sorta "anti-Christian" ya know??I definitely don't classify it as 'interesting" though.

10. Do you prefer an expensive writing tool or whatever is lying around? (Are you a Montblanc or a Papermate?)

Bic pens all the way. The blue top kind with the clear barrel. Writes the best as far as I'm concerned.

11. What chore doesn’t feel like a chore – you just enjoy it (at least most of the time)?

Doing laundry. Honestly. I really don't mind it. I used to love folding all the cute baby clothes and sniffing the "april fresh downy" smell of those cute clothes!

12. If your parents often repeated themselves, what is something one of them said more than once?

Lol....oh boy.
here goes.....
how about:  "your gonna catch your death of cold" (when I would leave the house without gloves or a hat in winter". or "be careful".
but the best one that I am grateful for now but used to roll my eyes at:
"always make sure you tithe."

Ok....now you know a bit more about moi!

I did a big purging of my email boxes too, but I try to do that on a regular basis. Makes me crazy when I've got too many emails but on the same token I also am horrible for hanging on to emails thinking I need the info in them down the road so my inbox can really be a mess.
