In Touch and in Christ!

I am so thankful tonight!

I had the privelege of hosting and leading the Moms in Touch group for my daughters' school district.

We met today for the first time since last May.  The woman who used to lead and coordinate it had to take a full time job which left us without a leader.  I began to pray about this during the first semester this year, and God put it on my heart to step out and lead this group.  Our public schools in this nation are a spiritual battlefield!  Our children need the power of praying moms!

The Lord has freed me up to lead this group every month....on the last Friday of the month.  It is truly an honor to come alongside these "sisters in Christ" and intercede for our children, the school(s) they are in and for the teachers, staff, and administration.

A couple of the women are friends of mine...one goes to a different church and her oldest daughter and my youngest daughter were in the same K and 1st grade classes.  ST also used to be the secretary, years ago, at the school where I taught special needs preK children! It was good to reconnect with her when our children started kindergarten, 5 years ago.  Another woman, who really encourages me in my prayer life,(she is a true intercessor) has a daughter at the junior high.  My oldest daughter, Courtney, knows her from our youth group at church. She also has a daughter in Claire's homeroom at school.  CA has been a dear friend of mine for a few years now and attends the same church as we do.  We have prayed together many a time!
And the Lord brought a new sister-in-Christ to our group.  SW has a son at the high school and he is also in the Life Club in which my oldest daughter is an officer.  She knows him although he is a freshman so she doesn't know him all that well.  They also attend a different church and S's daughter is at a local private Christian school.
The really neat thing about SW, is that she had been praying for the last 4 years, ever since moving here from NJ, for a Moms in Touch group!  It was awesome to be a part of her answer to prayer!

So....if everyone can come, there will be 8 of us...today there were 3 of us.

How wonderful it felt to lift up our specific children in prayer.  We are excited to see what God is gonna do with and thru us for the rest of this school year!  I need this group of "sisters" to help me do life....our daughters and sons face many situations while at school.  We pray that they make the right choices and use wisdom when faced with all the temptations that come their way.
I thank the Lord for giving me these friends to pray with and read Scripture with....we can encourage each other by our prayers.

And..the Scripture pictured above was one that went with our theme for the day.  That God is our Master Planner.  He already knows the future of our children and He holds them in the palm of His Hand.....

He is an amazing God!

How neat! We have a Moms in Touch group, and they pray for the teachers, too.

As a teacher, it's a great feeling to know your students' moms are praying for you.

amen,Laura! thanks for stopping by again...as a teacher, I know that we need lots of prayer! so I get the best of both worlds...moms in touch keeps me praying for my daughters' teachers, etc. and the other moms pray for ME! :)

You'll be an outstanding leader of this group, Faith. I've heard very good things about Moms in Touch, although I've never attended a meeting. :~D

Thank you for your kind words, e-mom! I am really just the facilitator though...we all just meet at my house and I "lead out" in prayer....we're a team! :)
