The Light of His Presence

Ah....light.

I LOVE that the morning light is upon us a bit earlier now that it is nearing the end of February!

I am amazed at the way the early morning sun breaks through the line of trees behind our backyard  to dispel any shadows lurking near the shed, deck, house.  I become awed when I look out at the light at 6:15 a.m. while waiting for the coffee to brew, realizing that God has designed these 4 seasons and phases of the moon/sun. I am really enjoying the drive in to work now that the sun is higher, earlier, in the sky.  The light of the morning reminds me of the things to come that God has whispered to my heart and spoken of through His Word and through my prayer journaling or devotional.

If we humbly bring to God, our prayers and petitions, any problems we face or anticipate (like stress, overextending our selves in ministry duties or work or home management, children's activities, etc.) will pale in the Light of His Presence.  Just like the shadows get dispelled in the early a.m. light and the darkness is chased away by the presence of the sun, so too will our anxieties and problems,(whether by our own hand or the hands of others) be chased away by the Light of His Love.

We can learn to be joyful in any situation as we learn to be joyful in Him!

The only way to really have this joy or be free from the daily burdens of a stress-filled life is to spend quality time with our Redeemer and Savior.  Our friend.  Our Father.
Oh, how He wants to spend time with us.  Not just a quicky devotional in the morning and then rushing off to do a myriad of things on our "to-do" list....but....real quality time.  Praying without ceasing. (which in my opinion means praying often in the Spirit throughout the day...in our minds/souls).
Really digging into the Word.  There is nothing wrong with online devos, devotional blogs, or books that contain a passage for each day.  But...there is also nothing like digging into the Word..the very words of God, to teach us, mold, change, and grow us up!

So....is the Light of His Presence shining today in your life?

Are you allowing the Light of His Love to chase away any dark areas you are experiencing?

are you spending quality time with the Lover of your soul??

"The Sovereign Lord is my strength;  He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, He enables me to go on the heights."  Habbakkuk 3:19

The sun/Son has been shining in the PNW all weekend. We're taking long walks outside and loving it. Seems like spring is nearly here. Pink Japanese cherry blossoms are in full bloom.

Great post!

I think I really need to heed what you are saying here. Why are we, or should I say I, so slow to take the daily stresses to God and allow Him to shine through?
