It's the middle of the week and that means we are playing the Random Dozen Survey questions, compliments of Lidna over at 2nd Cup of Coffee.
note: this blog will close and be available to invited readers only beginning Friday evening. If you want to be a regular reader here, please email me ASAP. THANKS!
1. Are you pleasant when you're ill, or are you a grumpy, fussy patient?
it depends on what the illness is. I'm rarely sick. If a headcold, I tend to be grumpy yet will carry on. If something more serious, like when I had lyme disease for 2 years, I was very quiet and kept to my self for the most part.
2. When you find out that school is canceled (due to inclement weather) what is your gut reaction?
"Thank you, Jesus! A stay at home day; no teaching for me today!" And then "oh yeah, that means the girls are home also." (although secretly I don't really mind that since they entertain themselves and sleep in!)
3. What is one domestic skill you wish you could improve?
folding fitted sheets. I have never figured it out. My neighbor/friend Melissa is a pro.
4. Do you decorate your home for Valentine's Day?
yes, a little bit. A decorative heart flag on front porch, red heart wall- hanging in dining room, candy dish in shape of heart, cinnamon scented candle in kitchen.
5. What song is on your mind today?
"Cerf Volant" from Les Choristes
"Cerf Volant" from Les Choristes
my teenager watched this movie during the last month in French IV class. She says it is an amazing movie. We borrowed it from her French teacher to watch as a family on Friday nite. The main plot is that it is a boys school, for difficult boys, set in the late 1940's. The school is strictly regimented. A new teacher comes in to try to change the boys' spirits through music/song. This song at the end of the movie has been running through my mind all day. My teenager has the music playing all afternoon while doing homework.
6. Do you prefer contemporary movies or classic?
Classics but I do like some contemporary flicks as well. There's nothing like the classics though :)

7. How well do you "compartmentalize" your feelings? For example, how well can you put aside a really trying moment to deal with the immediate situation which is not related to the trying moment, e.g., putting aside a tiff with your spouse in order to finish wallpapering a room.
I am a master at compartmentalizing my feelings.....although I believe it is not always healthy, emotionally, to do so!

8. What is the first thing that attracted you to your spouse? (Or if you're single, to your best friend.)
his sense of humor and his ease at spiritual discussions

10. What are your memories of Valentine's Day at school?
making shoebox valentine card holders and giving valentines to kids I could care less about.....

Hi everyone, for now, until I go private with the blog, I am moderating comments..so it might take me a day or 2 to publish them :)
Yes, I had lyme disease, officially, from 2002-2004 but part of 2001, which is when we suspect I acquired it, had the symptoms which were misdiagnosed and undiagosed.....much healing has occurred although there is an occasional flare up of the residual joint pain.
