Here are some photos from the latest HizKidzPraise! musical that my youngest daughter (Claire) was in over the weekend. They had 2 evening performances: Friday and Sunday. Unfortunately, I felt like I was just "there" because I had to be.....we were consumed with the flood in our basement from our sump pump, and spent 13 hours on Saturday ripping up the wet, ruined carpet, moving furniture, computers, toys, camping gear, etc.
I kept saying to my friends and family "Are We There Yet?" (meaning, are we in Paris yet???!!)
As I type it is Monday evening. My husband is teaching his small group of high school boys and will be home later. My teenager is studying and beginning her packing, and Claire is in the shower, very tired from the activity all weekend. We put the girls to work! Everything is moved back into the basement now and I bleached the entire floor after the carpet was removed. We got rid of a lot of "junk" in the process....always a good thing! The computers are hooked back up and the washer/dryer. Most of the camping stuff is put back and we just have odds and ends to do which probably won't get done until AFTER our vacation. But......working around the basement mess, I had to fit in these 2 shows and church, plus other errands. OH! and praise the Lord!! Our new stove/oven was delivered to us Sat afternoon. ... amidst the mess of my house and basement work. BUT...glory to God! Dave and one of Courtney's teen friends (Tyler) hooked it up and I was able to cook on it Sunday morning. I missed reading everyone's blogs over the weekend and hope to catch up once we return from France. Meanwhile...here's some pics of the show!
The name of the musical was "Are We There Yet?" and it was a musical rendition of the Biblical account of Moses and the Exodus out of Egypt. The children did a great job!! The shows always come out so good.....we are blessed to be in a church that has this type of children's ministry.
"Shackles", a hip hop style dance.
Claire is the one in the center (2nd from left).
This was her favorite dance in the show....
and the most challenging of any of them.
More "Shackles"....Claire is 2nd from left.
The "Burning Bush" dance.
Claire is the one in front center
"Pharoah"
"Moses" praying before the Red Sea parts.
More "Burning Bush"
"Moses" shows the Hebrew people the
10 Commandments!
"The Golden Calf"
"Golden Calf" dance
Claire is 3rd from left in front row
This was my favorite song: "The Promised Land". The show should have ended here, in my opinion, but after the curtain closed, the kids went back to their positions and then sang a song about Pharoah. I thought "The Promised Land" was their best song, vocally. I personally felt as though this song would have had the show end on such an awesome note (no pun intended!). My eyes had tears in them as I realized that Claire is only going to be in 1 or 2 more HizKidzPraise productions! She has already told Dave and I that she won't be joining once she gets into Junior High....so.....this summer and next year will be her last!
So.....that was what we were doing this past weekend.
I am going to try to be on here for one more post this week and then we are off to visit Paris for our Spring Break.
For those of you who have told me you are still praying for me regarding the restoration I desire to take place with a friend...please continue to do so, and know that the Lord has brought much peace to my heart and I am starting to hear from Him regarding where it is going and what He wants to do! It is no coincidence, either, that our pastor is telling me the same thing! GOD IS GOOD!!!!! Thank you for your prayers.
I hope to catch up with many of you once we are back to work/school. Enjoy the week!!

I'm exhausted just thinking of all the work that got done with the basement in one weekend. I don't know how on earth you threw 2 productions in there too.
Claire looks like she's very comfortable on stage. It looks like it was a great production.
These photos are outstanding! I'm sure the production was excellent. You're a proud Mama, no doubt.
What can you do with these pics? Make greeting cards, or a calendar. Seriously, I think you should do something with them... maybe use the product as a fundraiser for the next show?
Have a very Happy Easter, Faith.

Susanne: yes, claire has been dancing on a stage since age 4 so she is very comfortable with it. She loves the HKP ministry but knows that it will be too much come junior high school as she wants to join the theater club at school plus a language club and orchestra...she will be very busy in a couple of years!
E-Mom: good ideas about the pics but....in order to do those projects I would need permission from any parent whose child is in the photos and I don't know them all. I have been tempted to do some cards though for publicity....I might actually do that for the next show :) Have a blessed Easter and enjoy the start of spring!
