Beautiful Things

Ok.....I am honored!
E-mom from Chrysalis  awarded me and some other wonderful ladies with this.

 What a nice surprise!

However, I am supposed to list 7 interesting things about me.

Instead, I am going to list 7 things I consider to be beautiful......simply beautiful.  The key word is simple.

Some things are from my times spent in the forest of the Adirondacks or Acadia National Park...other things are blessings God has bestowed on me....all of them are Created by Him.....

So.....THANK YOU E-mom for this award....and here's what I consider to be most beautiful in this world that God created.

  • The song of the whip-poor-will.  Unfortunately my children have never heard one. I did often at our family camp in the central Adirondacks.  It was many a summer nite that my mom and/or dad would gather us on the back porch of the camp and tell us to be silent and listen.  Whippoorwills do not like noise...especially the noise of humans.  They are very elusive.  I have never, ever seen one but I have heard their song many times.  There is nothing like it on earth....no orchestra, or operatic vocalist, or any instrument is as hauntingly beautiful to me as the sound of the whippoorwill.

  • Birch trees in the Adirondack forest.  Spring, Summer and Autumn.

  • The cry of a loon on a lake.....late at night or early in the morning.

  • My girls when they were babies, sleeping in my arms, swaddled in their blanket, cheeks flushed with warmth and tiny fingers curled into those little fists, long lush lashes grazing those cheeks and rosy pink lips breathing quietly in sleep and contentment.
(this was taken from the internet and is not one of my girls!)
  • My husband praying.

(not an image of my husband!)

  • Sun-dappled ferns on the forest floor

  • The pearly grey/pink/blue hues in the sky just as dawn is breaking over a mountain and the sun is just appearing on the horizon.

What is beautiful to you?

I've never heard a whip-poor-will either.

Congrats on your award.

This is a lovely post! I also think it is simply beautiful to see a baby sleeping peacefully with their little hands clasped. I get to enjoy that every day at the moment!

Thanks for your comment on scheduling on my blog a while back - it was fun to read about your schedules.
