Time to share the 5 things that the Lord has blessed us with this past week.
I have 4 pictures to share and a praise report about prayer.
A big Thank You to Susanne from Living to Tell the Story who so happily hosts this for us each week. I love that woman!!!
Claire, my youngest daughter, dancing the "Golden Calf" dance in this weekend's HizKidzPraise musical, "Are We There Yet?" The musical is about Moses and the children of Israel being led out of Egypt. It is a great show and Claire is in 3 of the 5 dances. She was a bit annoyed (but it's good for her to learn to deal with disappointment) that there was no ballet number in this show, but she is thoroughly enjoying the hip hop style of the 2 dances. She is also in an interpretive type dance. I'll show one of those pictures sometime next week. (this was a dress rehearsal shot!)
This cute, cheery forsythia wreath I ordered from a country style catalog. Here it is hanging on our front door, to welcome guests to our home and remind people that "spring has sprung"! I like silk flower wreaths as they last for several years.
My new camera! My husband, Dave, decided we should shop for a new camera for me to take to Paris. This is what I chose which is the exact one he had been thinking of getting for me. I wanted to look at them first...I LOVE it. It is so tiny compared to the one I bought back in 2004. And wow...the technology has really changed! I can even take a panoramic with this one and it will "remember" where I left off so I can get the entire panoramic view.....Eiffel Tower here I come!! (& Dave is gonna use our old one, as he still likes it!)
Direct answers to Prayer. To read what I was praying about earlier this week, just click here. As for the basement? Carpet expert told us to rip it up, bleach the basement concrete floor, let it dry, and order new carpet. It would be too exorbitant for us to try to save the carpet. My prayer was answered....I had prayed for a clear decision and wisdom regarding this basement problem! Now...we just need to pray the sump pump continues to work!!
This antibacterial hand soap from Bath & Body Works. Our basement carpet got destroyed when our sump pump failed. Therefore, we have spent most of last evening and will spend most of our Saturday, ripping up and removing the ruined carpet. Taking the rolled up pieces out to our garbage bin and box is my job. It leaves my hands smelling like icky mildew....so...I have been using this soap OFTEN in the last couple of days. The scent is "White Citrus", one of my faves..and the light green color matches my half bath which we just repainted a couple months ago. I think this will be the soap from now on that we use in that room. LOVE the scent and the way it makes our hands so soft.
That's it for today.
We have a busy weekend! Today is going to be spent finishing our shopping for the Paris trip. The girls and I have the day off due to a Teacher Workshop day which I don't need to attend.....this is a huge blessing!
Claire will be in the 2 performances for the HizKidzPraise show (tonite and sunday evening).
Tomorrow, of course, after having my teenager drive to her driving class, I will come home and help my husband and one of our friends, who volunteered to help us, rip up the icky carpet and try to mop the flooring down there.......we will let a couple of months go by before attempting to buy new carpet or flooring. We also have to start packing for Paris! So....I won't be on here much this weekend, if at all.
I will be back sometime Monday or Tuesday!!
ENJOY THE WEEKEND!!

Love the picture of Claire dancing. It made me chuckle when you said she was annoyed there was no ballet in this one. Mine would be the opposite. Hip Hop is her thing and she'd be annoyed if that wasn't included. LOL. She's in a big dance competition this weekend. Wish I cold be there. I've never seen her dance with her team "live", just on recordings she sends me. Sigh.
I smelled that white citrus at the big city mall when we went. It was actually a toss up which I got but the Moonlight Path won out for me. I wanted to stock up on hand washes and matching hand lotions but I'm not kidding you, they had like 5 bottles left all of one scent which I wasn't nuts about, so I missed getting those this time around. But I've got some nice body wash and lotion now.
I was wondering if you'd be advised to just pull the carpet up. Will insurance cover that for you?
You captured a great shot of your daughter in this presentation. She's a cutie. It is so good to have clear direction...I know what you mean. I'm glad your prayers were answered. Oh what fun a new camera now make sure you get a huge memory card or a few memory cards so you can click click away in Paris!! Have a nice weekend...
That sweet Claire of yours... she's born to the stage. What a fantastic musical!!!
So glad you're drying out in the basement. I was wondering if you would be able to float your kayak down there...
