March Random Dozen #1

It's the middle of the week! It's been a hectic one for me and my family thus far but God is good!  He healed my youngest of a bad headache and sore throat on Monday and He has been healing my husband of a nasty chest cold and Dave has been finding opportunities to just get to bed on time and sleep.  Always a good thing the week leading up to a weekend spent chaperoning about 50 junior high teens at a youth group conference...which he will do from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon.

I decided to participate in this week's Random Dozen hosted by the beautiful blogger Linda from over here.  Thank you, Linda for these fun questions!

1. How old is the oldest pair of shoes in your closet?

11 years old.  My LLBean aerobic/walking sneakers.  I bought them to use with the baby jogger when my youngest was born....they still fit and still look great....gotta love LLBean!!

2. Did you buy Girl Scout cookies this year? If so, what variety?

of course!  2 each of Tagalongs, Thin Mints and Samoas.....thank God for ballet friends who are in Girl Scouts!

3. Do you know how to ballroom dance? If not, would you like to?

Dave and I took a 6 week ballroom dancing class at our church when we first joined 5 years ago. We LOVED it and love the opportunities to dance together...which is usually only 1-2 times per year at annual parties...but...sometimes we have been known to dance in the kitchen to much eyeball rolling from the teenager. We are best at the waltz and foxtrot.

4. Were you a responsible child/teenager?

much more so than my own teenager. especially when it comes to household chores......I was quite responsible for everything except completing my math homework. And that is the ONE thing my teen is great at so....I guess we even each other out.

5. How many of this year's Oscar-nominated movies did you see?

um....i think just one.  Up. I plan on renting a couple of them when they come out on dvd....I rarely go to the movies....

6. If you're going to have a medical procedure done, such as having blood drawn, is it easier for you to watch someone else having the procedure done or have it done yourself?

Much easier for me to have blood drawn than for me to watch my children get it done....and I don't watch my own blood either! I tend to look away

7. What is your favorite day of the week and why?

Saturday mornings. Early. Because everyone else is sleeping in and I have 2 whole hours to just sip coffee, read the paper, read the Scriptures, journal and read my novel...... work out, bike, etc etc.  PEACE AND QUIET!

8. Do you miss anyone right now?

I miss my friend Chris. We had a covenant friendship....she died of colon cancer very quickly after being diagnosed at age 42...she left behind a 5 year old and husband of only 7 years.  I miss her so much.....

9. Do hospitals make you queasy?

I am rarely in one so....no.....

10. At which store would you like to max-out your credit card. Not that you ever would, you responsible person, you.

Do I have to pick only one store? if that is the case then most likely Crate and Barrel or GAP

11. Are you true to the brand names of products/items?

Pretty much! altho I will buy some generic items like flour, sugar, ketchup, stuff like that....

12. Which is more difficult: looking into someone’s eyes when you are telling someone how you feel, or looking into someone’s eyes when he/she is telling you how he/she feels?

looking into someone's eyes while he/she tells me her/his feelings.....

So....play along if you'd like....link up over at Linda's at 2nd Cup of Coffee....and have fun!

So sorry about your friend, Faith.

We really enjoyed UP. I think you'd really like The Blind Side. It was a wonderful show.

LOL. I always look when they draw my blood.
