Spring Reading Fling!

Since I love to read, and always have a novel going, plus a Bible study book or non-fiction Christian book and usually some kind of hiking or kayaking book, especially in the spring months, I decided I'd participate in Katrina's (from the blog, Callapidder Days) Spring Reading Thing this year.  You can read about what this means, by clicking here.

Most of the books on my list are ones I will get from the library.
The Christian fiction ones listed with a * next to them, are ones I am borrowing from my sister, Hope. (THANKS, Hope!).
The secular books with a + next to them, are ones I am borrowing from my sister, Joy. (THANKS, Joy!).  (yes, I have 3 younger sisters and we all love to read!)

My Spring Reading List:

1. Long Lost by Harlan Coben (currently reading)
2. Deeper:  Living in the Reality of God's Love by Debbie Alsdorf (a personal study book I am currently going thru)
3. Fun on Flatwater by Barbara McMartin (kayaking!)
4.*Mitford Series #5:  A New Song by Jan Karon (finishing this on vacation in Paris, while waiting in long lines! :))
5. *Mitford Series #6:  A Common Life: The Wedding Story by Jan Karon
6.*Mitford Series #7:  In This Mountain by Jan Karon
7. *Mitford Series #8, (the final novel in the series) Light From Heaven
8. +The Wednesday Sisters by Meg Waite Clayton
9. +A Change in Altitude by Anita Shreve
10.  House Rules by Jodi Picoult (deals with Aspergers Syndrome)
11. Echoes by Maeve Binchy (the only Binchy novel I haven't read)
12. Worst Case by James Patterson
13. Views From On High:  Fire Tower Trails in the Adirondacks and Catskills by John P. Freeman
14. Here Burns My Candle by Liz Curtis Higgs
15. Finding God in Hidden Places by Joni Eareckson Tada

So...that's my goal.  To read every single book on this list by the start of summer.  I probably won't read each and every one by then.  I may even see something at the library that catches my interest and replace it with one of these on my list.  BUT...these 15 books are ones that have caught my eye...the last 2 are rather new so I might end up buying them online if our library or church cafe/bookstore doesn't have them.

At any rate, reading is one of my favorite past times, especially on warm, sunny spring afternoons after teaching in the classroom all morning or on a weekend morning after a long bike ride!

HAPPY READING, EVERYONE!

Wow, that's an awesome list, Faith. I have yet to read a Jodi Picoult book. I'd really like to, I just don't seem to get around to it. I actually bought My Sister's Keeper and then ended up giving it as a birthday gift. I'm reading Here's Burns My Candle right now.

A nice list to keep you going! I've enjoyed books in the Mitford series. I like Higgs and Tada too. Good fun ahead!

I hope to compile my Spring Reading Thing and post it tonight. My goal is to read one book/week. We shall see... :~D
