Wedding Thoughts

I don't have a lot of time to write during the rest of this holiday weekend.
My husband is off to the early service for church, my oldest has to serve as Greeter for the 11 a.m. service, and after I drop her off, I need to get my youngest over to Urgent Care to see a pediatrician.  She woke up with a slight fever, complaining of ear pain (Again!!!!!...it was just 2 months ago we went through this) and her allergies are really bothering her.....).  Later today we have some flower/yard work to complete, and my husband has to chaperone a Youth Group event.  ~sigh~
Tomorow we are hoping to either hike or kayak.  Or just rest by a lake with a picnic.......

at any rate:
I am linking you to a post I did back in December titled "Betrothed".

Claire and I attended a small, country wedding last evening. It was the shortest wedding ceremony I have ever attended but oh, so, sweet.  The bride is a young lady who choreographed several of the HKP shows that Claire danced in.  Last summer, the bride even did a dance number with my daughter...it was a beautiful duet.  Sadly, she will no longer be involved in the shows...the last one is this summer, anyways, as the director is moving......but...Claire has fond memories of dancing and of having "Miss M" do the choreography.
Anyways....as I was watching M walk down the aisle, I was reminded of what it means to be "betrothed".  Of how vitally important it is for Christ to be in the midst of the couple and the new life they are starting. Oh, how I pray that M and her new hubby draw close to Jesus while drawing closer to each other.  (and Claire, of course, is hoping to run into M at church sometimes; M even wants us to give Claire's ballet teacher her name for future volunteer events!)  But...while watching this wedding, I just reflected on how blessed I am to be in a marriage where the Lord is taken seriously...we lean on Him to get us through the bad times as well as the good!  And how I hope that Dave and I are imparting this wisdom of Christ being the Head of the Household to our children.  Our prayer is that they, too, would find godly men in their future.......

So....feel free to think of this link as my devotional posting for the day!

And enjoy the rest of the weekend!! (and if you are a prayer warrior, I would really appreciate any prayers lifted up for my Claire.....this ear thing is a puzzle....we are also asking the Lord to heal up her spring allergies!)

Praying for Claire. We just went through ear issues with my youngest too. After a year of being in and out of doctor's offices and emergency on Christmas Day because her ear swelled shut, they finally referred her to a specialist and she has infection of the skin inside her ear. Caused by, you'll never guess, Q-tips. Yup. She's not allowed to used them anymore.

Hope you get your day of relaxing tomorrow. Sounds like you have a very full day.

Oh dear, it is so hard when kids are sick! I hope things sort out soon.

Thanks for your thoughts on marriage. It is wonderful to contemplate the way human marriage can reflect our relationship with Christ. God is good to give us this!!

susanne:thanks for praying! Dr thinks the eustachian tube is being blocked by her cold plus the spring allergies are not helping...it seems like this year, with the 4 colds she has had since Sept, she gets the ear pain.....wow...Qtips! I have always told my girls to NOT put them IN their ears, just swap around the outside part....I'll have to remind them again! I am having a restful morning so far...Dave made breakfast!! :) and we're gonna go kayaking...Courtney wants to stay here and work on school stuff and Claire thinks she might feel up to a mid-day at the lake...we'll come back here for a bonfire tonite....

sherrin: thanks for stopping by! Glad you liked the marriage thoughts...hope you are feeling well...when is your due date??

My 11 year old son goes through that as well.He has a lot of enviremental allergies. Once he was on a good antihistamine (not over counter kind) and we put in aircleaners in his playroom and bedroom it really helped. I hope that she feels better very soon.
God bless!

Oh, it is the time for those allergies! It seemed one of my boys had a continual ear infection one spring. I'll pray your doctor can solve the puzzle.

I know what you mean about faith and marriage. How do people make it any other way? I've prayed for my kids future spouses since I saw their tiny faces.

Hi Laura, thanks!! The Dr thinks the bad cough is from a head cold....this is her 5th head cold this year....her first time in 11 years with more than 2 colds during the school year...AND the year where we were almost anal about keeping hands clean....go figure!! The ear thing is the eustachian tube which is being blocked from the post nasal drip...he gave me a good rx for nasal spray for her....twice a day as needed....she is on the mend!
yes...I have prayed for their future spouses ever since being convicted to do so when they were toddlers.....they are my precious girls.....and I want precious, Christian boys for them!! :)
