It's the day after Christmas.
Steaming hot robust coffee is in my mug.
Hubby is in shower....girls are still slumbering.
I'm sitting in my dining room, gazing out the window.....here is what I see and hear, and muse upon...
- 4 blue-jays and 2 cardinals at the feeder...=
 - Numerous nuthatches and one squirrel at the base.....
 - swirling snowflakes falling from sky......perhaps we'll get that storm that is supposed to come up the coast...will it arrive this far inland? My girls want snow.......better now while on Christmas break than next week when we have to drive back to school/work....
 - grey skies but a cozy warm house smelling like balsam and ceder....a candle from Dave my darling hubby.....
 - meditating on the Scriptures from Romans 12 that Dave shared with me earlier this morning while we sat near the tree, all lit up and gifts opened and scattered beneath.....
 - memories of Christmas' past when the girls were little and up early....
 - memories of yesterday's laughter, love, and joy....
 - memories of friends, both near and far, who remain dear to my heart....
 - praise in my heart for the Savior......for His mercy and grace.....
 - excitement of the upcoming church service.....
 - reflecting on the words from our pastor as he talked with us about our daughter's choice of college.....and thankful for his encouragement, laughter, and wisdom....
 - memories that swirl in my head after reading the Grandmother's Memory Journal given by my mom to my daughters...and a new appreciation for my Christian parents who so love God and family.....

Swirling snow.....
Savoring the Savior.....
Friends and family......
Praying for understanding of gifts given in token examples of mercy and forgiveness.....and for the person receiving the gifts.....
Grasping for peace, mercy, and grace.....
and finding it in the Arms of the Father......
Savoring the Savior.....
what are your thoughts this morning after Christmas?

Savoring the Savior.....
Such beautiful thoughts the day after Christmas. Thanks for sharing them. I have enjoyed this day after as well, reading, writing, enjoying my family and Jesus.
Sounds like much peace you are enjoying this day after Christmas. We went to church this morning and heard an awesome message, lots to think on there, and then just hung around eating leftovers and playing with the new puppy. We also the watched "The Nativity" (not the one that was in theatres a couple years ago) and all of us agreed it was the best one we've seen.
Hi Lisa: Thanks so much for your recent email....it meant alot to me! Ilove just hanging out with my family and catching up on all the reading.
Susanne: well, we now have snow! I am sitting here on monday morning and we have about 8 inches....ugh...but it's pretty only because I am inside!
Yes, we too enjoyed a fantastic sermon yesterday morning. We had a new pastor who is going to oversee our small groups ministry and the spiritual development stuff at our church. Our senior pastor hired him but he can't join us officially until the fall....will tell ya more about it in an email...it is exciting! He spoke about how we have Hope in Jesus AFTER xmas is over and how that HOpe is anticipated in His Return. And then we just sat all day eating yummy food and reading books. That movie sounds great! I've only seen one Nativity movie.
Hi Faith,
I've always enjoyed the day after Christmas the most. Finally, there is nowhere we have to go, no more gifts to wrap or baking to be done. Just sitting quietly and reflecting on all that God has blessed us with.
Sounds like a great way to relax. Have a wonderful and blessed new year. My baby graduates in less than 5 months and yours is somewhere around there as well. I am going to spend every minute I can with her and enjoy her before she is gone. God Bless!
