This is what we woke up to this morning:  this shot was taken from my family room door leading out to the deck and backyard.  It was about 8:15 a.m.

We are walking in a winter wonderland today!  8 inches of beautiful, breathtaking snow fell in the Capital Region of New York State overnight. (and in the mountain areas east of us, near the MA border the reports are out that they received 2 feet!) We still have less than the central and western parts of the state out by the Great Lakes....but....this is enough for me!

My husband STILL has not bought a snowblower so guess what we'll be doing this afternoon??

It's great exercise though.  And I just might hire our neighbor boy if I get too winded!

Happy Winter, everyone!

Alas and we're having a chinook today melting all our snow. Wouldn't you know, just because I bought the kids sleds for Christmas.

I love when it's a winter wonderland look!

Hi Susanne! Yeah, ours won't last long either....weatherpeople are predicting that the temps are heading into the mid 40's by week's end....fine with me...it'll just be icky and slushy!

Hi Faith,
After we finally finished shoveling ourselves out (we haven't purchased a snowblower yet either!), we were finally able to enjoy all this snow. Yesterday was beautiful with the sun shining and very little wind. Today, I hear a lot of dripping outside; it actually feels pretty mild compared to the temps we've been having.
