Walking in a Winter Wonderland......!

We're walking in a winter wonderland today!!

Here's what it looks like in my part of Albany County, New York State this morning at 8:45 a.m.

Our "Snow" flag gave us a snow day! :)

Hubby's Car

Our first significant snowfall of the winter.

Our first snow day (day off!) from school this school year!

A time for making chocolate chip pancakes for the girls:

Claire's breakfast
A time for Dave to work from home (right now he's on a conference call....ah..the blessings of technology..he had the foresight to bring home his work laptop and get permission to work from home....) :)

Dave working in family room
A time for me to do laundry, get caught up on emails, write a letter to a friend, do 2 work-outs today (I'm motivated to lose my 4 lbs by end of month....have lost 1!), make this lasagna dish, organize some photos, and read!!!

We will have to do some major shoveling later.  And sadly, my youngest (Claire) won't get to start her pointe class today.  I'll save the picture for my Friday Fave Five post......She does have a Social Studies project to work on so she'll be busy today......my oldest is supposed to finish writing her Art Dept application essay for the college she is going to in the fall.....she also has some reading she wants to do.

Since we don't have a snow blower, I'm wondering if I can count shoveling as a work-out??  I think I will!!

And while I am doing laundry and a myriad of chores....I'll be pondering about walking with God.....snow reminds me of the old classic hymn "Whiter than Snow" Here are some of my favorite lines from that song by William Fischer, 1835-1912 (we used to sing this alot in the Free Methodist church where I grew up)

"Whiter than snow, yes, whiter than snow;
Now wash me and I shall be whiter than snow.
Break down every idol, cast out every foe;
Now wash me and I shall be whiter than snow.
My prayer has prevailed;
and this moment I know
the blood is applied;
I am whiter than snow!"

Happy Snow Day everyone!!

I wish they would call snow days around here. No such luck. Hubby and my son did hours of shoveling over the weekend and parts of the driveway are still drifted in.

Funny how the comfort foods come out when the weather takes a turn for the worst. I made waffles and bacon on Sunday when we didn't go to church due to the blizzard/blowing snow.

Yum, Susanne...those waffles and bacon sound great. I only eat turkey bacon but we have a half lb of "real" bacon in the fridge that my hubby surprised my daughters with....yes, we eat alot of "comfort foods" it seems like in the months of Jan and Feb...lol....this is why I need to up my work outs! :)

Snow days are fun days. Chocolate chip pancakes!! YUMMM!!
We got snow too, but only about 6 inches. Not enough to cancel school. The kids were really bummed.

Beautiful pictures!!
And the poem at the end is beautiful as well! We are whiter than snow because of Jesus!!
