February Fave Fives 1

Well it's finally February. One more full month of winter.  According to the calender!  I sure hope some of our Capital Region, NYS snow starts to melt.  The snowbanks are so tall this year!
Looking for the 5 blessings from God this past week was easy for me....we enjoyed several special moments and things, and for this I am most thankful!
Here are the 5 faves that make my list (and a huge thank you to Susanne for hosting this each week!!)

  • MOVIE NITE WITH MY TEEN GIRL!  My oldest daughter and I were alone all weekend because my husband and tween were at the junior high youth group Winter Retreat in the Adirondacks.  Courtney and I are huge horse fans, and Courtney had wanted to see this movie. She misses her equestrian sports days.....she used to love those riding lessons and jumping with the ponies.  As soon as we saw that this was at the video store, we decided to rent it for Saturday evening.  We also rented a "chick flick" (Dear John) but this horse movie was by far the fave!!  I highly recommend it if you are a racing or horse fan. It was also neat to see scenes from the Saratoga Racetrack in the movie!  (we live about 20 min south of the track and love going there during racing season)

  • LEMONADE! I have no idea why I've craved this lemonade all week but I did.  So I bought some and have thoroughly enjoyed it!  My teenager was craving Ranch Pasta Salad which is typically something we make in the warmer months.  All we can think of is that we most be really weary of "comfort" foods and are craving summer menus!  This lemonade really quenched my thirst after a morning of shoveling on our snow day!

  •  VIOLET BODY GEL AND SPRAY!  This new scent from Avon is so intoxicating!  It is a subtle scent of violet but it's powerful because when using the gel in the shower, it reminds me of a spring morning just after the sun has come up.  I can't explain it but that's what it reminds me of!  Like that early April scent when I go power-walking before 6 a.m.  The body spray is subtle and it doesn't last all day but it is just so refreshing....and at Avon prices it really makes for a fave!
  • THE SUN SHINING THROUGH TREES!  This pic is not mine...I pulled it from a website.  BUT....this is how the sun looked through some oak trees I drive past each day to the school where I work.  Thursday was the first real sunny day we've had all week (last Saturday was fairly sunny as well).  After Tuesday and Wednesday's snow storms/sleet/grey it felt so good on my face when I drove home in the afternoon and on my body as I sat in the afternoon sun on my living room couch finishing my preparations for my small group.  How I love the sun!!  Even in  winter :)

  • FRESH MARKET's CHRISTMAS BLEND COFFEE! This coffee is usually $10.99 per lb. This week it was on sale for $6.99 a lb. So of course I "had" to buy it!  I actually got it in decaf and I keep it in the freezer. (coffee kept in the freezer stays fresher, longer). My oldest daughter love it. It is a blend of cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla. It makes the house smell like....Christmas!!
Do you have some favorite things from this past week??
If so, how about linking up at Susanne's and writing a post about your fave fives?

Or....leave me a comment and let me know what your faves were this past week!

HAPPY WEEKEND!

That coffee sounds like something I would really like.

I'll have to take another peek through my avon catalogue for that particular scent. I don't recall seeing it.

And now you have me craving some nice lemonade! :v)

What a great evening to have with your daughter! The sun shining through onto snow is really amazing. I'm glad you found joy in the midst of your piles of snow! Have a great weekend....

Oh thank you for reminding me about Secretariat! We are a horse crazy family too and we have heard such good things about this movie (Seabiscuit and Dreamer are other horse movie favorites!)

I love reading other's lists of God's blessings. This week I was blessed with my husband taking me out to dinner! And then a dear friend taking me out to lunch! I know what you mean, too, about the sun shining through the trees. Little moments like this help me survive winter.

    That's a beautiful picture!

We saw Secretariat in the theatres and we really enjoyed it, too. Being originally from Kentucky, the bluegrass, it's kind of in my blood.

    Have a great week ahead!
