Time to list the 5 things blessings that God allowed in our lives this week.......bloggers who like to find 5 faves every Friday link up with Susanne from over here.....join us! Or if you aren't a blogger, please share one of your fave things from the week, by writing in the comment section....
- HUGE DOSE OF GOD'S GRACE! swiped off the car side-view mirror on drivers side when pulling away from the pharmacy drive up window.....the grace of God was on this because the entire component was not severely damaged like it was when I did this 3 summers ago (yes, i have now managed to do this THREE times on 2 different cars....!)....and the part was in stock so they can put it on this morning before princess has to be at her graduation rehearsal. And although still very pricey to fix, it isn't as pricey as 3 years ago! And the other "grace filled moment": the reason we were at the pharmacy was because the princess woke up again for 2nd time in a month, with swelling and pain at site of incision of bottom wisdom teeth...only the opposite side of last month! We prayed, went back to oral surgeon and found out he didn't need to dig down. He just irrigated it, gave her the rx for antibiotic and we went back yesterday for a quick check. Things are looking better....she just needs to stay on the antibiotic and keep irrigating it after all meals. I'm making her do this the rest of the summer!
- FATHER'S DAY LUNCH hubby wanted to go eat BBQ at our fave BBQ place..so after church we headed north a bit and enjoyed an awesome meal on the patio.....replete with the best ice cream in NYS...the western NY style custard ice cream that I remember so fondly from my college days at RWC in Rochester, NY, is sold here in the eastern part of NYS for a very good price...and I can only find it at this establishment...it really made for a yummy ending to a fun Father's Day luncheon.

- WATCHING THE BALLERINA Claire, our 12 year old, had her Dance Show last Friday evening. It was delightful. All of the classes in the Academy of Dance performed (tap, hip-hop, jazz, adult tap, and ballet...of which there are not very many students over the age of 6.) Claire danced a pas de deux with another girl from her Advanced Ballet class and she had a pointe solo. She also danced as lead ballerina in her regular ballet group class.

- 6TH GRADE DANCE! In our school district's 7 elementary schools, the 6th graders are honored with an end of the year event (different for each school) and a Graduation/Picnic. Claire attends an elementary school that hosts a formal dance for just the 6th grade class. The dance is put together by a parent committee. Each year is a different theme. This year it was "Black and White Masked Ball" and oh what fun they had. Claire said almost every girl in the class was at the dance and most of the boys. Here is what Claire looked like with her mask and without her mask. It was held on Wednesday evening and they had a gorgeous nite for it!

- 6TH GRADE GRADUATION! Our district does not do kindergarten graduation (thank the Lord...there is always something kind of weird about that!) but rather, they honor the oldest class in the elementary schools with a graduation (no caps/gowns, just nice "church clothes"). When they leave the Junior High in 8th grade, they have an Awards Ceremony followed by a formal dance. And of course, on Saturday, the seniors of S----High School will graduate. Each elementary school in our district does it a little bit differently. Claire's school has Graduation from 8:30-10 a.m. with a procession, awards, class song, dvd presentation (with past baby pics, etc.) and then the giving out of diplomas. The gym is decorated with the school colors (maroon and white) and with the class mascot and school seal. This is followed by a cake and punch reception on the lawn, and then the Class Picnic in the afternoon at the towne park. Claire graduated yesterday morning and received 4 music awards! We are very proud of her.

what a wonderful week you had. Your daughter looks beautiful. I love her dress. Congrats for your oldest graduating. They grow so darn fast!
Wow, lots of graduation goodness here :-) I love that Chaines-turn photo; makes your daughter look like a little ballerina in a music box.
So the moral of the story is to steer clear of your side-view mirror. ha. Glad it wasn’t too costly to fix!
I’ve been to two ballet recitals this year; loved them both. Wish I was as graceful as those young girls...
The ice cream sounds yummy especially since I adore custard.
What a fun celebration you had on father's day and graduation and after the ballet! Whew! Busy week with lots of grand memories.
Oh boy you are busy with lots of different celebrations and performances. Your girls are lovely. That BBQ and ice cream sound real goo!
Congratulations to both of your girls! My daughter will have her graduation/18th birthday party next month (we homeschool).
Thanks for visiting my blog. Have a blessed weekend in the Lord!
What a busy and memorable week you are having. Congratulations to both your girl's on their graduations and accomplishments.
The HS graduation morning is long one but wonderful. Enjoy every moment! And congrats to you and your hubby's accomplishment in getting your daughter, from a babe in arms to a bright, lovely young lady ready to take on the challenge of college!
Oh Faith you have been busy!!! Claire looks so nice for the dance, I really like her dress. Modest yet trendy. :)And I bet it was crazy watching your daughter graduate! Wow...it goes fast doesn't it. Congrats to both of your grads!
And I must tell you I broke the side view mirror once also went I clipped it on the side of a covered bridge....and it was expensive!
Congratulations to both of your lovely, talented graduates! :)
Clicked over from Laura's, and it brought up your profile. I teach special ed part-time too!
Cute place you have here. Can't wait to click around.
I hope the HS graduation went well!
You must be so proud of the girls. 4 music awards, wow! Claire looked beautiful, for the black and white - and for her dance recital.
I'm glad the mirror wasn't too awfully expensive.
