Time for the Friday Fave Five! This is hosted by Susanne from Living to Tell the Story. Click on the title and it will bring you to her page where you can find directions about how to play along.
It's great to reflect back and find 5 favorites from the reams of things God blesses us with each and every week. Sometimes, depending on the week, you might have to stretch your mind......but there are always blessings brought to us by the Lord....we just need to look!
My Faves:
- HIKING HADLEY MOUNTAIN!

I hiked with my friend Carla and we had one long, hot, humid hike. Once we reached the summit, after a 1.8 miles steep climb, we were refreshed by the amazing wind on the top....we enjoyed picking wild mountain blueberries, resting, climbing the firetower, and chatting with a few other hikers who came and went. This was my 3rd time hiking this particular mountain....it is one of the most popular ones in the southwest region of the Adirondacks. It is only about an hour and 10 minutes north-west of my house. Hiking is always a fave with me...even in the heat!
- COOLER TEMPS AND FRENCH VANILLA COFFEE WITH MY OLDEST!

A brief rainstorm came up while my oldest daughter Courtney and I were out shopping for some more items for her dorm room. It broke the humidity and we were able to open windows...in fact, it became so cool that we brewed some French Vanilla DD coffee, I made brownies, and we enjoyed a yummy late afternoon snack together. We had fun shopping together, too! And we both loved how the rain washed away the dry dust from our deck, and brightened the grass giving it a much needed drink. Coffee with my oldest, a yummy snack, and refreshing rain...always a fave with me.....

- MORNING GLORIES BLOOMING!

The morning glories are blooming and growing right up my deck trellis....they are so pretty...they are a vibrant shade of purple which didn't quite get captured very well in this picture. I love sitting out in the morning sun and watching the blooms open. By late afternoon, when our backyard and deck are in the shade, the flowers close up...my youngest daughter used to say they went to sleep. I think they are so pretty, open or closed!
- BEACH DAYS!

My youngest and I headed north to this place with my youngest sister and her 2 little girls. We had a really nice day....the water was cold but refreshing...the 2 older girls swam a lot and the little one jumped around so much she made her self go under water! She even let me "help" her "swim"...she actually did a great job in kicking those little legs....and my sister and I got to chat, take them for ice cream and just enjoy the day....the weather has been beautiful here all week....much better temps for playing outdoors and no humidity!!
That was basically my week...doing summer things...with family, friends, and finishing up appointments with my oldest as we prepare to move her to college....in 3 weeks from today, she will be moving into her dorm!!
and today is my husband's birthday!! We are celebrating tonight with tickets to this team's game, followed by fireworks! I am going to surprise him with a grilled steak lunch (he has the day off), followed by chocolate chip french vanilla dessert bread, and then we'll eat snacks at the ball park later tonite with the girls. His fave way to spend his birthday...watching a ball game!
What about you?? How is your summer going?
What are some of your faves??
Please share....I can see that I have lots of readers...how about leaving a comment?? and if you have a blog, feel free to play along!!
HAPPY WEEKEND!!

happy Birthday to your husband! Not everybody gets to celebrate his birthday with fireworks! It looks like you had a great week, hiking and a trip to the beach, quality time with your daughter, and French Vanilla coffee. Summer doesn't get any better than this! Have a great weekend!
You must be in good shape to hike that. Way to go! What fun that you and your husband dance together!
My morning glories are blooming too; I love them even though they are always thirsty. I love summer!
Happy Birthday to your hubby! I hope he loves his day and has a wonderful, blessed year!
That hike looks wonderful. We haven't been hiking in a long time.
The lake beach looks like lots of fun. We're planning a lake outing for tomorrow with my sister. We don't have little ones anymore but it's still a nice way to spend the day.
It was so nice when the heat broke! We had terrible rain and storms today, I hope they didn't make it that far, and that you were able to enjoy the game and fireworks.
Aren't the morning glories gorgeous?
I'm so glad you had a nice time at the beach and on your hike. You're fitting lots of fun in this summer!

Hiking, dancing, listening to music, celebrating a birthday-- what a great week!
I hope the celebrations continue all weekend!
we did some of the same things this week. I was at the beach and I went to a performance in the park and we did have a cooling down of the temps. I hope to be able to go hiking this week.
Hi Faith,
I hope your husband enjoyed his birthday. I love Bolton Landing. My husband and I were just talking the other day about getting up there with our son and enjoying a day at the beach. We've also been to the same ball park this year....it's our July 4th tradition to take in a game and then watch the fireworks. We're very fortunate that we live so close by there. The only unfortunate part is trying to get out of the parking lot....it's always packed!
I keep telling my husband I need a 'beach fix.' Your day looks like fun.
Morning glories are one of my favorites. I love the blue ones, though I've seen other colors.
Happy birthday to your hubby!
I have morning glory jealousy. I planted a whole packet of seeds and only one plant is growing. And it just started growing even though I planted the seeds in May. In fact all my planters are a failure this summer. I am not sure what went wrong.
All of your FFF sound lovely. I especially resonated with you spending time with your oldest dd. Coffee, snack, refreshing rain, and successful shopping trip with a daughter is a joy!
