Time to reflect back on the week and find those five fave things that just stood out....blessings from God.....this is hosted by Susanne from Living to Tell the Story. Link up with her to join in on sharing your faves...or just leave me a comment here describing one of your fave things from the last week.
My faves are centered around FAMILY!
- A WELCOMING FIRE! Upon arriving at the beach house on the evening before Thanksgiving, we found a warm, welcoming fire in the great room, prepared by my father-in-law and....an awesome surprise: My husband's oldest sister couldn't make the trip to the East Coast (they live in CA) so we had the beach house to ourselves for the entire Thanksgiving Weekend. My in-laws decided to stay in their winter home in my husband's home town and his other siblings live near by so had their own homes. What a wonderful surprise......the downside (or upside??) was that there is no longer any internet service on the penisula in the winter season (nov 1-april 1) This led to lots of conversation, quiet times, walks on the beach (most days were low 60s there!) and reading....always a fave!

- FAMILY FEAST! This year it was my husband's youngest sister's turn to cook the Thanksgiving feast. She did it at her home in Rhode Island, about 45 minutes from the beach house. In the picture shown below, all the girl cousins from my husband's side of the family are hanging out (our niece Hanna, age 19, is in college in Scotland). We hung out, played games, sang, ate, and had great conversations.......spending time with Dave's family at Thanksgiving is always a fave......

- READING! This makes my fave list because I had scads of time to read over the weekend and so completed a novel and began a new one. I also made some headway in the Chronological Study Bible I am going through this year. I am on the parts of the gospel where Jesus begins His ministry. It is so fascinating to read it in chronological order. Reading and completing books is always a fave......(but i don't have time this week to write a book review...this is the 10th book I've finished since the Fall Into Reading Challenge began!)

- SHOE SHOPPING! Usually I despise shopping for shoes...but my college gal, Courtney, needed a new pair of boots, so off we went into the beach house town to a fantastic sale at DSW! We had so much fun together while Claire and my husband walked around the penisula back at the beach house. It was so awesome to just spend time with Courtney and finding great sales...and in MA there is NO clothing tax!! and gas is MUCH cheaper than here in NYS.....great sales, good shoes, and spending time with my oldest daughter laughing, chatting and just being together is always a fave with me.....

- DINNER DATE! Last night was Dave's company Christmas Party. It was held here and the band that played is one of my very faves....the NY Players! The drummer is married to one of my very best friends from church. They are a fantastic band and I always love dancing a couple of numbers with my husband after the fancy dinner before heading home. Many thanks to my neighbor Melissa for keeping an eye on our house while we were out all evening, and for my friend Dorrae for getting our 12 year old to and from youth group. Dinner dates, Xmas parties, good friends helping out is always a fave.
That's it for my faves....this is posting late in the day on Friday because there was something wrong this morning before work. I was able to see my home page here on the blog, but unable to post/write! Has that happened to anyone recently??
At any rate, it is fixed now, and the Christmas tree is waiting to be put up......tonite the three of us will miss Courtney's help....and we'll miss her for our traditional Xmas movie nite after the tree is decorated......
Whatever your plans are, I hope they include some Christmas merriment, reflection on the Word of God and a very relaxing weekend........

I loved hearing about your family Thanksgiving! Isn't it great to spend time with your college girl? We had our college boy with us, too, but he's our baby. (The last college tuition...finally!)
This just sounds like a lovely holiday. And your dinner date -- so neat! Enjoy all your holiday preparations, Faith!
Oh Faith, it all sounds so wonderful! I especially like the "reading" and "fireplace" parts ; )
Sounds like it was a wonderful Thanksgiving for you. I could do with a little no internet time.
You guys look pretty snazzy all dolled up!
That's great about having the beach house to yourselves!!! And the fire : ) I would like to get a woodstove or pellet stove or something cozy. Not sure my allergies could deal with a woodstove.
Our Avon lunches are at the same place where you had your Christmas party. Love it there. They do a good job.
What a great Thanksgiving--especially having the beach house to sleep in. The work Christmas dinner sounds like it was a fun time, too. Shoe shopping? That only happens at my house when coffee is promised!
You looked so nice for your date! I'm glad you had fun.
Your Thanksgiving sounds like it was perfect - and shoe shopping with your sweet girl at DSW? Icing on the cake!
