This week flew by!
It has felt like spring all week and I have had lots of faves to choose from....let's reflect back and find five of them to share with others. Join in on the fun by linking up at Susanne's at Living to Tell the Story.

- NEW CLEANSER! I LOVE this new cleanser from Avon! It is a thermal-type facial cleanser to smooth, polish and condition the skin. It feels "warm" going on and I LOVE the scent! My pores look smaller and surface skin feels smoother after I use it at bedtime. This is the very first Avon facial cleanser that I am either not allergic to and in which the scent doesn't bother me. I have tried almost all the avon facial cleansers over the past 15 years and most of them have such strong scents that bother me or give me headaches. I LOVE this and sure hope they keep selling it. And the price is comparable to better cleansers from the department stores.....trying new products that actually work for me is always a fave! (if you want to try some, just head to my sister Hope's blog at this site and click on her avon link!)

- PAINTING THE MASTER BEDROOM! My oldest daughter and I got right to work on Saturday (late morning after I picked up my new glasses) and painted the bedroom. Dave and I really needed to get this job done....we had never repainted in our room in the 17 years we've lived here. I wanted to keep one wall (behind my dresser) the creme color and the other 3 walls this blue color (called Enchanted Evening..don't ya love the title for a bedroom?!). Courtney thought it would be fun and artsy to leave the stenciled border of ivy up that I did 15 years ago and just paint up to that border. I was hesitant but......here is the final product in the photos below and I LOVE it. So did Dave! It is so much fun to redecorate! And paint is cheap! I am in the process of ordering a new mirror for Dave's dresser wall, and new valances for over the sheer curtains which will be lowered to inside the frames on tension rods. A fresh coat of paint is always a fave with me......
Looking at Dave's dresser/nightstand Quilt is handmade by my mother in law! I am ordering a new mirror for the wall above his dresser..... |

- NEW DEVELOPMENTAL MILESTONE this might sound weird but I realized this week, with Courtney home for college spring break, that she and I are on a new level in the parent-child relationship. The college calls her stage "emergent adult" (ages 18-21). We are almost like "friends" although I don't think it is healthy to think of our children as our friends...we are still the parent. BUT....my pastor's wife was talking to me about this one day last autumn...about how it's more like a friendship now. I couldn't relate because I still "felt" so much like "mom". But...with this visit home, that relationship has moved from one of child to parent to more of "young adult to older adult". And I LOVE it. She is learning to cook with my guidance, and is taking initiative more on certain tasks that used to need a mother's prodding. Seeing new milestones emerge is always a fave with me.......
- SONGBIRDS! At about 5:15 a.m. I begin to hear the songbirds in my cherry trees (right outside our bedroom windows) and I love that sound! My alarm goes off at 5:30 and even though I do not like this time change to darker in the mornings, I do like waking up to the birdsong! It's almost spring.......and I just love everything about it......even the darker mornings are ok because I know the days are getting longer, and the birds continue their song in the evenings....and that's always a fave......

tulips pushing through c. faithe MTpics 2012 |
- NEW LIFE! On Wednesday I had to leave work early to take one daughter to the dentist and once we were home, I worked a little bit in the front flower bed. And was so surprised to see how far up the green leaves on my tulips have pushed through! It's early!! I love seeing all the new life springing up around the town.....new life and rejoicing in HIS Life is always a fave with me......
And I can't resist just one more fave!!
Last evening was my small group nite with my mom-friends. Since I am the leader, we always meet at my house (twice-3 times per month). Last evening was just a "hang out and do quality time together" evening. (coffee, fellowship/chatting and prayer time) Around 4:30 pm I was wishing that I had time to bake something but decided that the bag of Easter candy as a little treat would have to suffice with our coffees. At 5:15 one of my friends texted me that she was bringing a banana creme pie to the meeting!! I love how God takes care of the little things, don't you? So...a huge thanks to my friend Hope M!!
Do you have some faves to share??
Do you have weekend plans?? Feel free to share in the comment section and
Enjoy the weekend!

Love the freshness that color gives the room and it goes so nicely with your quilt.
I remember that point in my oldest and my relationship too.
I haven't seen that face wash here in Canada yet. I'll keep my eye out for it.
Glad you like the Avon product. Thanks for the free advertising!! That's nice about you and Courtney. I remember when I recognized that stage in myself and Mom. It was a good feeling. Nice paintjob. Looks so Spring-like and fresh!! My flowers haven't started coming up yet. We still have patches of snow!! Not much, but some. I have, however, let the chickens into the garden during the day, and they are providing much-needed compost!
Yes - I LOVE hearing the birds in the morning again. What a welcome to Spring!
I always love a new paint job - makes everything look so fresh.
Waking up to birdsong is a wonderful way to start your day. I love it when the days get longer!
I love what a fresh coat of paint does for a room! It's nice that it coordinated so well with the border.
I love that transition into adulthood fr our kids. It's a little uncertain at first, especially with the oldest, but being able to talk to them like adults had been great.
That's neat about the pie!
You definitely sound like you've got spring in this post - fresh new color in the room, new growth in the garden and in your daughter. Wonderful fives!
That room is beautiful!! Glad you had a nice time with your daughter. I love your five faves. : )
Banana Cream Pie? Yummm. It is those little "coincidences" that show God listens to our thoughts. He indeed is a caring God.
So lovely to see your tulips pushing up and to read about your songbirds. Spring is such an encouraging time!
My tulips are almost spent. Until last week, we've been spoiled with Spring=like weather (singing birds, warm temps, no rain, budding trees/flowers). Now it is cold and rainy and the blossoms are all on the ground.
Have another beauty filled week!
Faith, I love your new painted room! We haven't re-painted since we moved in 13 years ago, so I know what you mean. The house is feeling "needy"! :)
I hope to do some painting soon..we will see...
