Empty Tomb......Living Fully......

image taken from bibleplaces.com

the tomb..............

.........empty........barren.......no sign of life yet no sign of death..........

.....just....empty.........

reflecting this quiet afternoon of the significance of the empty tomb.........

............life is busy here.....but so important to sit quietly with coffee cup in hand, Scriptures in the other and wait and hear from the One we celebrate.......the One who sacrificed His Life....wanting to stress the importance to my daughters...to remind them of what He has done for us.....knowing that in our busy lives of prepping a family dinner, filling the baskets with treats, placing the tulips, cleaning the house, we need our Savior............our Redeemer......

are we going through the motions of celebrating because it is expected of us as born again Believers?

are we celebrating the fact that we have an entire week off from school to relax, refresh, recharge for the end of the work year?

or are we truly celebrating what our Lord has done for us?

I see the place pictured above...the place that most archaeologists agree is the place where Jesus was laid.....so barren...and empty.....

taken down from the Cross and placed in an empty tomb.  .......for our empty lives.......

...........for our empty hearts......empty souls..... .....

and I marvel............

I have always found it interesting that we celebrate Easter midst the start of spring....that season which brings to us the new green of buds, leaves, life...........

.............and in celebrating this newness, this life all around us we no longer see emptiness but a fullness of life.....of joy, liberty and grace....

"You will show me the path of Life; in Your Presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore."  Psalm 16:11

there is no emptiness in Him other than when we pour out the sin-spots of our sin-soaked hearts.....pouring out into Him to be filled by His Spirit....filled with new Life, new Love......

.........and complete joy in the presence of Christ...........

We celebrate His Resurrection and in so doing we celebrate the redemption of our sins....being redeemed by our blessed Redeemer.....

and fully living to live fully.............in Him............

and for this I marvel this Easter weekend......
