It was downright crazy and chaotic! From ballet rehearsals and late evening pointe classes, to 2 ballet classes in one evening with multiple trips back and forth to studio, store and home, to students who were acting up, to a mid-week field trip, to a closet crashing clothing all around (mine).......well....it was just a chaotic week! BUT...like God always does, I found pieces of peace amidst the craziness. At first I thought it would be hard to find FIVE but here are the things that blessed me:

- STEAK AND SALAD! Sunday found me grilling steak. In a downpour....it came up suddenly about half way through the grilling process!! But then the sun came out...and all was glorious.....grilled steak, a fresh salad with plenty of greens, veggies, garbanzo beans, and cheese plus a cheesy potato casserole and large pieces of watermelon was the perfect ending to a rather busy Sunday. One of my fave meals in the summer.....

- SHELVING! Courtney, home from college now and looking for a summer job, volunteered to help me re-organize my side of the master walk-in closet. Earlier in the evening (during the mad dash to get the other daughter to ballet classes/making dinner!!) my entire side of the closet fell to the floor. Clothing, shoes, scarves, hats, and belts. Everything. A MESS. 4th time in 10 years. Dave bought better shelving (see image above) and put it up rather than going to his small group (he's a good man!!) He worked until 10 pm at which time Courtney and I put my heavy winter sweaters and work pants into a large bin I had bought and re-arranged everything by season. She was a big help in getting me to just "breathe" and be at peace. I was in bed by mid-nite. It looks great and now I am only putting "in season" items on the top shelf!
- SWEET SCENTED TEA ROSES! My rose bush bloomed early this year and it is doing GREAT! I love this bush. I've had it in the front flower bed since 1995 when we first planted it. It was a mother's day gift from my oldest daughter when she was 2. This year is the best it's ever been and it typically blooms up until November. This past winter, since it was so mild here in NYS, it even had a bloom on it in December! I love the scent of tea roses......so delicate. I plucked one blossom off and put it in my mommy pot for the kitchen window sill. It brings a bit of sweet peace to the area......
- CENTRAL AIR! Yes, we've had central air conditioning on this week. We typically don't turn it on until late June! But the last 3 afternoons and evenings have been VERY humid. The temps haven't been all that high but the air has been very sticky.....some pop-up thunderstorms have occurred on and off for a couple days, too. Dave and I have the bedroom that is in the hot afternoon sun so our room gets WARM and STUFFY! It felt so good to slide between the cotton sheets in a cooled-off room the last 2 evenings. We open windows in the morning and turn on the AC once I get home from work. I used to not mind the humidity but the older I get, the more I want cooler air to do housework and sleep!

- SCRIPTURE!! This Scripture from Psalm 29:11.....says it all! God gives us Strength, through His Son Jesus, and He blesses us with peace. I thought the image of the ocean was perfect as well since we are heading for the beach house shortly after work today. It'll be a bit crazy there with various members of the extended T----family coming and going. Our niece who is back in the states from studying in Scotland will be joining us and at some point during the weekend we are having a special luncheon with our oldest nephew who just graduated from college! His younger sister will join us sometime as well as she just graduated from a Maine university and is headed to vet school on PEI at the end of the summer. It will be great to see these 3 young adults and for them to be able to have some time with my girls. All the cousins are close-knit and that is definitely a fave. Even amidst the chaos of a family vacation and the end of a very crazy week, we will be at peace in the cape cod air, the time to recharge and refresh and reconnect. God is GOOD!
Do you have a fave from your week??
How has God blessed you?

Don't ya just love when our kids get to that age when they actually minister to us when we're stressed? That made me smile reading about Courtney. You sure are a go-getter though. I probably would have spread the work of putting the closet back out over a few days. And very sweet of Dave to give up his night to put that shelf up for you.
Your tea rose is lovely. My mom loves roses and has them all over her garden.
Grilled steak made my list too. Love grilling on nice days.
Hoping you have a nice weekend to recuperate, busy though it may be.
Your tea rose is beautiful! I'm celebrating our central air as well, this weekend we're supposed to be mid-90's. Way too hot for end of May!
What a sweet daughter to help you with your closet disaster.
I'm with you on using the AC for humidity more than the heat. Humidity bothers me much more than heat does.
I hope you can enjoy a relaxing weekend.
Hi Susanne! the ONLY reason I had to do the closet hours after it happened is because the clothes had to get moved to my bed.....it was COVERED, along with my desk chair, the arm chair and even some on the floor. LOL..otherwise I WOULD have waited. but i needed to sleep. lol....
LOVE your tea roses. My grandparents always used to have those, and I loved them as a kid.
Oh, the closet chaos -- I know that well. I remember the groaning sound it makes as it comes down. It's happened twice to us. And what a job -- taking all the clothes and everything out, etc. Sweet of Courtney to help!
Enjoy your week ahead.
I love those roses! I'm imagining just how good they smell. :)
We're grateful for our central air, too, although we've been using it for awhile this year already. It's hard to imagine that I didn't grow up with central.
