It finally feels like Spring here in eastern New York State!
I'm excited that it was a week of (mostly) sunshine and warmer temps!
I'm also excited to have a full weekend of mostly outdoor things to do.....but for now, let's take a few moments to share our fave blessings from the week. I do this by linking up at Susanne's site and sharing FIVE.

- CLEAN DECK! Last Saturday was gorgeous. Dave was away all day so Courtney and I did some stuff around the house (washed another bedroom window among other things) I washed all the deck furniture, got out the cushions for the swing, bought a new area rug to hide the chipped paint (it will get painted later in early June). I also just sat in the sunshine with my coffee and book and it was great. It feels so good to have the deck ready for lunch, dinner and as the weather continues to get warm, breakfast. I am the one who uses the deck the most and I just love when it's finally warm enough to get out there! So thankful for our very old but very useful deck space! I'm also thankful it gets the morning sun and by 2 pm is in the shade!
- FLOWERS! This past week my spring flowers finally were in bloom. They are so delicate and pretty. I just love the spot of new color!!

- SUNDAY AFTERNOON HIKE! I went to the early service on Sunday morning and then did some cooking and housework. We grilled some chicken, made potato salad, and baked beans and had some delicious steamed broccoli and cauliflower. Dave wanted to take a nap as he was exhausted from the youth group retreat he helped chaperone so Courtney actually agreed to go to a local-next-town-over nature preserve. You can read about it here. We did the main trail which is basically just a little over 2 miles. We had a glorious day for it and we followed it up with our first trip together this season to the ice cream stand we really like over by the airport. What a fun afternoon! I'm thankful my oldest gal still likes to do stuff with me sometimes.
- STUDENTS OUTSIDE! This past week we've been able to get the preschoolers outside for recess/gross motor time. The classroom I teach in goes out about an hour before lunch and it's been so sunny and warm. The children are having a blast running all over and playing in the sandbox. Playing outside means we can work on socialization skills, sharing, taking turns, and language plus because they all have special needs and almost all of them have some kind of motor issue, the physical therapists also come with us which helps my classroom staff to have extra hands for these 13 little ones. I'm thankful that we have a good team of people!
- SMALL GROUP FRIENDS: I'm getting towards the end of the semester with my small group and although I'm not sure if I'm going to lead another one next year (am still praying about that!), I have really enjoyed meeting the new women who joined and reconnecting with former members. We have all really bonded this semester and tomorrow morning we are all going out for breakfast after our fitness walk. I'm so thankful to have friends who are also sisters-in-Christ.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend doing the things you love to do to help you relax from the work week.
What are some things you are thankful for this week?

HI Faith, I'm visiting from Friday Fave Five. You are the link right before me. I used to participate in this link-up (as Joy in the Middle), but I took a long blog break. I recently started back up, and I couldn't wait to take part in this again.
What a cute mat on your deck! I love that bright green.
Your hike sounds lovely. I enjoy hiking, but lately, my hikes have been more like walks.
yes, it's such fun doing things with our adult kids. I am similarly blessed that mine still enjoy being with me.
Spring is such a delight---seeing all the lovely flowers come to life after a dark, dreary winter always thrills me.
Blessings to you,
Patti
I have noticed that you seem so happy in your 'new' job. It's great to have a good team. My daughter works at a charter school and it's obvious that the whole staff likes to work there and are a good team.
That hike looks sooo inviting! Walking in the woods and near streams and creeks is almost as wonderful as walking on a beach :)
Lovely spring flowers do brighten up the landscape!
Have a great weekend!
I'm so glad spring finally came to your area! So good that you could get out for a hike and your students could play outside. I love the new color and growth this season. And warmth! Your deck looks cozy.
The church we're visiting now is very small, too small to break into small groups per se, but the ladies meet once a month to discuss the passages we're reading through as a church. I've met with them once so far and really enjoyed it. I've missed out on ladies Bible studies at church previously because in our old church they had them at night when it was hard for me to get out with my m-i-l here. The ladies at this church meet early Sat. mornings, so even though that means getting up early on my sleep in day (though I only sleep in for 1/2 usually, ha!), it works out well for us.
You asked about the book I am working on: it's about having devotions, spending time in the Word of God. Not so much a how-to, though there's some of that, but an encouragement to.
Your outdoor area looks great. Hope the weather gives you the opportunity to use it. Nice to have time with your daughter too.
Love your little reading and coffee area on your deck. Very inviting. Love the look of the carpet. Maybe I'll invest in a fun bright carpet. The little hike at the nature preserve looks just perfect. I've taken advantage of the nice days and took my preschool kidlets out too. It was very welcome after being so cooped up this tough winter. You small group sounds wonderful like some wonderful relationships were made.
