Autumn arrived on Monday and here in eastern NYS, it felt like mid-July! It's become a bit cooler again and I'm loving the changing of the leaves to golden yellow, oranges and reds.
Let's pause in this crazy, hectic week and share FIVE of our FAVE blessings. I do this with other like-minded women and then we all link up at Susanne's site. How about joining in?
FIVE FAVES

- FAMILY MOVIE DAY! Dave suggested that I use my gift card I received for Xmas from my youngest sister 2 years ago (yeah, I rarely go out to the movies....that's what Netflix is for!)....he and I both wanted to see Downton Abbey the Movie. We just loved the series when it was on PBS and we LOVE anything BBC (for the most part). This is our absolute fave and in our opinion, one of the best, BBC series ever. Our oldest is a huge fan too and since she was home, we invited her on our date. She was absolutely thrilled. So after church, off we went. It was so good. I actually cried at the scene with Grandmama and Mary. I don't want to ruin it for you if you haven't seen it yet...but be warned.....you might shed a few tears. The ending was absolutely brilliant. The entire movie was so well done and we didn't want it to end! I'm thankful my husband suggested this.
- DINER DINNER! After the movie, we all needed to eat dinner so we headed right to our fave diner here in town. Courtney and I ordered the chicken caesar wrap and Dave had some kind of beef/mushroom sandwich. The portions are very big and the bill was reasonable. It had been awhile since the three of us had eaten out together. I'm thankful our oldest gal still likes hanging out with us sometimes.

- ICE! This is what I've been using for "20 min on/an hour off" per my chiropractor's instructions, once I'm home from work. It's been two weeks of my sciatica and wow....it's finally starting to ease up but I'm still not walking with a normal gait. Between the ice and the rest, I'm thankful.

- HYPERVOLT! My chiropractor is wonderful. She is such a knowledgeable person. She and her husband (who treated me in 2012 when sciatica first appeared in my body from the slipped discs) own and operate the center where I go. They also have 2 other chiropractors. The entire team uses the techniques that the husband created. Their techniques are unique and they work!! She introduced me to the hypervolt this past week and I love it. Although I'm still experiencing pain, the muscles and joints are beginning to relax and loosen. I'm walking a tiny bit better than last week at this time and for that I am thankful! I'm also thankful our insurance covers this and that this team of professionals use cutting edge technology.
- SURPRISE NOTE: Yesterday, when I opened my lunch tote at work, I discovered Dave had put in a little post-it. It was the above, then xoxo, Dave. Wow! I was shocked! It had been a long while since he put a romantic surprise note in my bag. We used to do this kind of thing all the time. I was joking with him that maybe he's been listening to our senior pastor the last month as our sermon series has been on Marriage. :) I'm thankful for my husband....I'm also thankful he's helped more around the house this week since I can't lift heavy items anymore.
That wraps up my week!
BONUS FAVE: Claire finally texted us that she was accepted into the UNH Ballet Company for the 3rd year!! We are very excited for her. The production this year will be a huge one and will include the aerialists, jazz and tap dancers all performing with the ballet company. I can't wait until April!!
ENJOY the weekend, everyone!

I just saw that Downtown Abbey arrived here in Waterloo and in French, lol ! There are always 2 versions the original one and the translation or sometimes subtitles. Not everybody speaks English ! I loved the series too and we probably will go this week. I also go seldom to the cinema.
Oh congratulations to Claire! I am not surprised :)
I'm glad you enjoyed that special time with Dave and your older daughter. I have seen most of Downton Abbey's seasons but not seen the movie. I know for a fact that The Professor will NOT go with me.
You asked about CBTL. That's Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, coffee and tea company like Starbuck's, Peet's, or Caribou Coffee. The coffee roasting plant is less than two miles from our house.
I’m glad that your pain is decreasing! I’ve never had sciatica but have heard it is very painful. Sweet not from your husband.
I am hoping to see the Downton Abbey movie soon. My d-i-l and a fiend both mentioned wanting to go, but we haven't nailed down a time yet. The diner dinner sounds great! I'm glad you're starting to feel better and hope you continue to. It's great to have good doctors on top of new equipment and techniques. Such a sweet note from your husband. Congratulations to Claire!
Wasn't into the Downtown Abbey series on tv so I won't be seeing the movie but glad you guys enjoyed it so much. It's hard to find really great movies anymore. We've tired of all the comic book superhero ones. The spontaneous dinner after sounds yummy. Congratulations to Claire! What a nice surprise in your lunch kit! Glad you are getting some relief and starting to heal.
The love note from your husband is way beyond sweet. How fun to get this non-caloric treat. LOL
Hooray for Claire. That is such exciting news.
I take forever to redeem any kind of gift card. I don’t know why I never remember to use them. How fun that the three of you got to go see the Downton Abbey movie. I am so excited to go as it was also one of my favorite series.
And what a lovely treat to eat dinner all together. It is always such a blessing when our adult children want to keep spending time with us.
I am so glad to hear that your back is doing a lot better. I had never seen that icing machine. What is it called?
Praying you feel even better this week.
Blessings, Susan from FruitfulWords
