These daffodils were given to me by my friend Diane F. She's in my small group and one of my hiking buddies sometimes. The evening that she brought them over, they were drooping a bit until I put them in water. Then they opened right up and started thriving. It's like they were looking up!
I was thinking of those flowers today while I meditated on the following Scriptures:
Meditation: thinking deeply, focusing the mind on a specific topic/for a specific period of time
Prayer: talking to God; an act of worship; a way of being/being in the moment/in the present; a way of relating to God, to ourselves, to those around us.
This Scripture opens up as a prayer for guidance. When I pray, I tend to pray in the morning time...before the busyness of my day begins.
I meditate while doing my yoga stretches.
I meditate and pray on the Scripture I read each morning in my devotional or Bible and then I find myself asking God to guide me through the day. To help me live in the moment. To be the best teacher I can be. The best wife, mom, friend, co-worker.
Sometimes I pray in the shower and/or in the car on the commute in to work.
When we spend time with God, getting to know Him, we become more intimate with Him. We learn of His character. We know He hears us and we can take comfort in that. It is like drinking of the Living Water.
We need the Living Water to thrive.
I will direct my prayer to God. In the morning. To begin my day.
And this will help me bloom! I will turn my face towards Him ("look up") as stated in verse 3b. When my eyes are upon Him, all else fades away.
My soul opens up to the magnificence of His Majesty.
My heart embraces the glory of His Grace.
When I look up, towards Him, I will thrive!

I LOVE this post! Such awesome thoughts and suggestions. I love the scriptures you have interwoven into this post. I need to do better at meditating. When I tried a while back, my mind went negative and I ended up anxiety attacks, so I really like the idea of mediating while stretching. That is such a positive thing. Thank you and have a great day. I will see you again soon!
Hi Deb. Thank you! Yes in the past i thought Christians weren't even supposed to meditate until i started examining what i read in The gospels. Jesus went to the wilderness, a mountain top, a garden...all to be alone with Jis thoughts and to pray!! So we can too!! I like to reflect/meditate on a scripture or passage i read in the morning and then i usually also do my yoga workout at that time because it's what works for me. It gets me up and moving and then i tend to pray in,the shower!! You're a working mom so i know you understand how vital it is to start our day off with our Lord!
