I cannot believe July is done!
So are the first 2 weeks of in-person/school summer sessions. How much fun we've had so far in re-connecting with our students. I'm so thankful I live in NYS where we probably have the strictest health and safety guidelines for re-opening than any other place. How blessed I am that 10 out of our 12 students came back to us. 2 are still doing remote learning via tele-therapy and tele-intervention. Every Friday all students stay home, and me and the other teacher have to video tape ourselves doing some kind of language or play lesson and then the other TA edits them and uploads them to Google Classroom. I have a feeling it might be this way for the new school year too although we don't know the specifics yet as the NYS Ed Dept hasn't approved or disapproved anything yet.
So, I'm busy but it's a good busy. Let's take a few minutes today and look back over the week and share FIVE of our FAVE moments. I do this by linking up at Susanne's site with other like-minded bloggers.
FIVE FAVES
- BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION:
new headphones for gaming and podcasts |
Birthday Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie |
- SUNDAY MORNING BIKING:
my hybrid bike |
pond near my home |
main road into local cemetery |
- SPECIAL PHONE CALL: One of my dear college friend, Paul, called me last Friday afternoon. He's also a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and he called me at just the right time. He knows about this current situation I am helping with and his encouragement and own story of crawling up really did come at the right moment. I'm thankful for friends I've reconnected with and with whom I have a bond in Christ with.
- MESSAGES FROM NEAR AND FAR FRIENDS: It seems that God knew just when I needed a special word, encouragement or prayer this week. Several friends including blogging friends (thank you Susanne and Deborah!) sent me words of comfort, peace and encouragement. Just 1-2 people know what I'm dealing with currently and by this time next week, I may be able to actually share what is going on. Because of confidentiality laws, I currently am unable to do so until it hits the media and even then, I won't be using names. I'm thankful for good friends who actually pray and comfort and listen.
- DINNER DATE: One of my church friends whom I hadn't seen since around Christmas time went out to dinner with me the other evening to our fave local diner. It was the first time for both of us to actually sit inside a restaurant and be served awesome food and fantastic service. We felt very comfortable. All employees had masks on and patrons only need them when coming in and walking to table. Every other table is reserved for patrons and at the time we were there (about 6:30) there were only 3 other couples in the dining area. I'm thankful for spontaneous dinner dates!
That wraps up my week.
I hope you all have a restful weekend!

It's good to be busy. Glad the majority of students returned and you feel safe. It's difficult getting the balance right. Sounds like a good week overall. Enjoy the weekend.
Belated happy birthday to your husband! I'm glad your classes are going well. That's wonderful to have received encouraging messages right when you needed them. I hope everything with this case goes the best way possible and the person gets the help they need.
Happy Birthday to your hubby!
I'm glad you have had encouraging encounters during this time. In the same way I expect you are dealing with issues, I have had to do so. Email me if you want. Always hard.
I know you will be out enjoy a bike ride or a hike this weekend. Relax and Rest!
Dave looks very pleased with his gift. Again a Happy Birthday to him. Encouraging words and prayers in the hardest of times is definitely a blessing. Continuing to uplift you in prayer! Lovely area to bike in! We haven't been in a restaurant since this whole COVID thing began. Since they've reopened, 2 restaurants have already had disinfecting shut downs due to employees being a confirmed case or confirmed exposure to COVID. And 2 restaurants have gone back to curbside pickup and delivery only again. Our city is seeing their numbers rising so trying to be as safe as possible. Enjoy your hike this weekend.
I'm glad that school is going well for you, Faith. It's good to have some moments of encouragement and time with friends while going through tough times. Sending prayers your way.
I don’t know what you are going through but will include you and what ever the situation is in my prayers.
