November Faves

It's Friday after a very busy week but it's not so busy that I can't take time out to share FIVE of my FAVE blessings from this past week.  I'm joining in with others in the FFF community and we link up over at Susanne's site.

  •  PIZZA NIGHT! Our oldest daughter (Courtney) works close by an amazing pizza place so she offered to order a veggie za for dinner and picked it up on her way home.  WOW.....these pizzas are the best.  The perfect crust and it was chock full of tomatoes, green peppers and onions.  We loved it.  I made a salad to go with it and Dave and I started watching the Netflix version of Rebecca.  BOO! NOT a good version.   We stopped it about half way through when I discovered the way it was going to end...NOT like the book.  But eating together on the couch was fun and we ended up both choosing our own shows to watch on Netflix on our own devices.  I'm thankful for modern technology and a daughter willing to bring pizza home for dinner!

  •  NEW TO ME HIKING PLACE!  My friend Cindy and I wanted to do a local easy hike Saturday afternoon (temps were 35 degrees F)so we chose a new to us nature place recommended by my boss.  In fact, she lives on the road where the parking area is located.  What a gem of a suburban hike.  Obviously we are just past peak foliage season, but the leaves remaining were stunning in color.  The loop we did was just 1.8 miles but it was so refreshing to get out in nature on a brisk, cold, sunny day.  I'm thankful for hiking friends and newly discovered places.

  • NECK MASSAGE:  On Monday I had a  chiropractic appointment for a neck massage and spine adjustment. I've been having mid-back pain that radiates around to my chest area.  It was kind of scary at first as the pain was a little more intense than in the past.  She said I needed a "tune up" after months of not going to see her.  I've been fine and pain free since last February until about 2 weeks ago.  She worked on me and I stood up pain free! In fact she said I won't need to come back unless the pain gets worse. It's back a bit as I type this but I'm hoping and praying it begins to ease up.  In the meantime, she has me doing a yoga stretch (the cow/camel) which really helps and wants me to buy a foam roller. I've ordered one and I'm thankful for my chiropractic place and their cutting edge techniques.

  •  CHORES DONE!  One day after work this past week, I came home to discover that during his lunch hour, Dave (who still works from home due to Covid19) had put the laundry in the dryer that I had thrown in the washer before work, had folded it, had collected the garbage and recycling bins from the street and brought them up to the garage and also had unloaded the dishwasher!  I've been suffering from my herniated disc in my mid-back the last couple of weeks so I'm especially thankful he did all the chores for the day.

  • OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD!  This is one of our very fave components to Samaritan's Purse and I've been shopping for children around the world since about 1995 when we started this with our oldest daughter.  Our church needs them back in 2 weeks so I finished packing the box this week, and had so much fun shopping for a preschool  girl.  I do miss doing this with the girls though.  Claire texted me that she misses it too!  I'm thankful for the organization, the Operation Christmas Child volunteers and the opportunity to give.
Those are just some simple faves from my week.....as I head into the weekend, I am very thankful  that our weather is going to be mild with temps in the low 60s!

Happy Weekend!

Hi Faith. So glad you are feeling better. That pizza sounds good. I think we will get some pizza from our favorite place tomorrow. Leftovers tonight. I love that hiking spot. I would love to get out and do a little hiking tomorrow, but alas, rain and snow are in the forecast. Hope you have a great weekend and let's keep praying for good news on the election front! :-)

I'm glad you are feeling so much better!
We are planning a hike with grandson and his Trail Life troop group tomorrow morning at a new to us place. I'll take photos and post them! It's supposed to be great weather here, too.
Yay for good pizza!

Glad you are feeling better. I hope the pain continues to ease. Yay for a hubby who does chores without being asked. Mine can also be very helpful but I would have to leave him a To Do list lol. (And probably in the right order to be time efficient.) Enjoy your weekend.

Glad you're feeling better. That was great of your husband to do the chores. I'm looking forward to OCC, too.

So glad you're doing better. I've been tempted by pizza all week, but went wild with a doughnut and potato chips on Election Day. After that indulgence I've spent the week trying to eat more healthily. But I've got pizza on my menu for next week. Have a great week!

Glad your back is feeling a bit better. Back pain is no fun. I love that quote about being grateful.

You know how I feel about Operation Christmas Child! I have my boxes all spread out on the bed downstairs and will be packing them up this week! Glad to hear you've had improvement with your chiropractic visits. Massage used to help my back, haven't gone since March though. Thankfully, I've still been pretty good. And now you have me craving pizza. Veggie kinds are my favorite. I haven't read Rebecca and have no desire to watch the show. I've started re-watching Timeless on Netflix just because I enjoy it and it's a great escape.
