CRAZY WEEK faves

Friday!  So thankful for that!

I'm linking up at Susanne's site with other bloggers who look for FIVE FAVE blessings from the past week and then share them.  It's been a crazy busy, and  tough week.  But there's always something to be thankful for. Here's mine!

  • SPECIAL TEXT:  Claire sent me a text while I was food shopping after work on Monday.  "My cap and gown arrived today!!" It's getting real.  I'm thankful she's almost done with her undergrad degrees but I'm so sad my baby has grown up so fast. A college graduation will happen in just a couple more months!

  • WARMER SUN!  I am so very thankful that Spring is almost here and that our days have been warmer and sunny!
 How I Spent my Wednesday
  • HEAT WRAP!  By Wednesday, I was a hurting unit.  I had iced a bruise Monday and Tuesday evenings thinking I was helping it only to discover from a doctor on Wednesday that I was  actually making it worse (yes, ice it the first day). You can read about what happened here. I'm very thankful for this eucalyptus wrap I can stick in the microwave to heat up (a friend gave this to me way back in 1990!). I'm never taking this for granted again.  It works wonders.

  • PRAYER:  I know I've listed this in the past, but with this week being ridiculously busy and chaotic at work not to mention my injury from a child, I am most thankful for the power of prayer and for my book group.  We really felt the Presence of the Holy Spirit in our meditation/worship time at the beginning of group and also at the end when we prayed for our needs.  I honestly couldn't get through this life without the power of God and prayer.

  • OPEN WINDOWS!  Yesterday got up to 68 degrees F here in the Capital Region of NYS.  I was able to open a few windows once I was home from work and let the fresh air blow through the house.  First time since early November! It felt so good!!  I'm thankful for Spring breezes.

That wraps up my week!

This weekend I am helping to lead a hike in a new-to-us trail system as the doctor gave me the go-ahead.  I need to use trekking poles and no mountains yet.  I am not allowed to power walk but it's a hike so the pace will be slower anyways.  3 of my good friends are going and we are quite looking forward to it even though it's supposed to be colder again. Then I plan on doing some housework, errands, going to church with my husband, and resting most of Sunday.

What do you have planned?  What blessed you this week?

Hi Faith. That is really good information about heat being better than cold for a bruise after the first. I did not know that. So glad you will be able to go on your hike with your friends. That sounds so fun. Congrats on your daughter's nearing college graduation. Yes, they do grow up so quickly! Amen to the power of prayer. I don't know what I would do without it. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Take care.

We've been opening windows too. It's been wonderful! How exciting about Claire's cap and gown arriving. That time went so fast and I don't even know her. LOL. I did not read any blog posts at a this week so I'll have to go check what happened with your leg. Hope it heals quick.

I am looking forward to open windows! I did have my door open with only the glass 'screen' door shut. It actually radiated heat in from the sun.
I am glad your injury is healing (I'll go back and read the post about it).
Congratulations to Claire! Those milestones are both exciting and bittersweet.
Have a good weekend.

Lovely photo of Claire! It's hard to believe she's about to finish college! It went by fast.

We've had a bit of warmer weather, too--so nice.

Ouch--I am sorry about your injury. I appreciated your insights on the post about it. Hope it heals quickly and well. I'm glad you can still go on your hike. Amen re prayer.
