How is it Friday already? I mean, seriously. The weeks leading up to Thanksgiving are just flying by! I'll pause today to reflect back on the week and find the blessings in it. I do this by sharing FIVE of my fave blessings and then I link up with other bloggers at Susanne's site.

- SHOPPING AND SPONTANEOUS LUNCH DATE: In the middle of the morning on Saturday, I went to our local mall to finish up some Christmas shopping for my nieces, daughters, and get started on my husband's. I'm not too keen on the mall and haven't been for years now but there are 3 stores that I needed to go to per their wish list requests. So after chores at home, I drove over to the south part of town and finished up my check list. I had texted my close friend Lynn to see if she wanted to meet me for a coffee in the B and N cafe (it's got Starbucks!) but she never responded until I was headed out of the mall to go back home. We decided to meet at Panera for a spontaneous lunch date! I did the Pick Two option and it was the perfect amount of lunch food. We got caught up on what's going on in our lives/marriages, etc and it was the perfect way to end my shopping trip. I'm thankful for getting things done AND for getting a yummy inexpensive lunch with a good friend from church.

- MOVIE NIGHT! Dave and I are all about having movie nights when the colder months arrive. Last Saturday evening, we found this hilarious....but oh so dorky and actually kinda badly done....comedy on Netflix. The reason we chose it is because 1. we love Kelsey Grammer...he's always funny.....and 2. it was set in England and we love movies set in Great Britain. I'm thankful Dave and I laughed and laughed because we needed something funny after a somewhat stressful week. It ended up being pretty good although super cheesy.
- WORSHIP AND THE WORD: Sunday morning I sat with Lynn as her husband couldn't make it to church and mine was working backstage on Production team. The worship was most excellent that morning and I really felt the Spirit of God moving in our midst. Then our senior pastor preached on Anxiety (it's a two part sermon series) and it was just so good. If you struggle with anxiety (I don't but I have friends/family who do), I highly recommend that you check out Pastor Rex's sermon. I'm thankful for excellent worship and the Word of God.
- AUTUMNAL SWEATER: A friend of mine from high school, who lives out in Missouri and whom I haven't seen in person since 1978, reconnected with me via social media a few years ago. Her mom and mine were friends and Dawn and I weren't really friends until we reconnected and found out that we are both Believers! She helps her daughter run a small boutique of some very unique and beautiful clothing...a lot of it is western themed (i mean Missouri........!!) and she had some gorgeous sweaters posted on their FB page. I ordered this one pictured above and it came in this week. It's so soft. I plan on wearing it to Thanksgiving dinner next week in MA. I'm thankful for well made wool sweaters that have beautiful colors.
- IN THE NEWS! On Sunday after church, I opened up our Albany Times Union and discovered two photos I had sent in for a photo contest made the paper! I've sent in photos before and they've never appeared in the actual weekend Times, just the online version. This time BOTH pictures I sent in were accepted! And they didn't alert me so I literally discovered this when I opened the paper. They did make one mistake: the bottom photo they say is of the Balsam Lake Mt summit and fire tower. It is NOT. It was taken FROM the top of the tower on the summit looking towards other Catskills high peaks. This brought a huge smile to my face. I'm thankful for living in a beautiful state with gorgeous mountains all around me. Here are what the photos look like just straight off my phone:

That wraps up a very busy week and soon it will be Thanksgiving vacation!
HAPPY WEEKEND!!! The last one before the official Holiday Season begins!

Hi Faith - That is so cool that your pictures were in the paper. That is a really beautiful sweater you bought. Great colors. You Panera lunch looks delicious. So glad you could get some shopping done and meet up with a friend. Like you, I don't enjoy going to the mall. Other than going to the Apple Store, I haven't been to the Mall since Feb. 2020. Ugh. I just don't like the crowds at all. I need to listen to that sermon on anxiety. I tried to find it last Sunday afternoon and it wasn't up on youtube yet, so I will listen to it during my prep hour today. I hope you have a great weekend. See you again soon!
How neat to end a shopping trip with lunch and a friend. That sweater looks so cozy and fallish. How cool that the paper printed your photos!
Congrats on getting your photos in to the newspaper! You do live in a beautiful state.
I love that sweater! And it will be warm and cozy to wear during the winter. And the added sweetness of the connection with your childhood friend.
