I'm super thankful it's Friday. It's a day I look forward to in the blogging world because it's where a few of us come together to say "thank You, God for my blessings" and we share FIVE of those blessings that made our "faves" list. We link up at Susanne's site. If you've never looked back on your week and found things to be thankful for, now's a great time to do so!
My five fave things don't really seem to go together at all...they're kind of a mish mash of various things. But they're all things that made me smile and say "thanks, God!".

- IN-HOME DATE NIGHT: Dave and I wanted to go out Friday night but both of us were just so exhausted. Our daughter said she was so tired after her first day of grand jury duty that day that we all decided to order food from our fave Moroccan place. We picked it up, and came home to have an "in house date night" with our yummy food and watch this rather corny movie that Dave wanted to see. (Claire retreated to the dining room with earbuds in to watch a different movie). Since I love Mark Ruffalo (who doesn't??!!) I stuck it out but honestly it was a bit too cutesy/dorky for me. We had fun though and the food was just the bomb. Mine was a little too spicy for me but oh my goodness, overall it's just so darn good!! The thing I'm thankful for? Time with my husband eating amazing food.
- SUNNY WEEKEND! Saturday was a beautiful sunny, but cold, day. I had to drive about 35 min west to meet my sister Hope at the diner where we like to have breakfast and coffee to give her something. We ended up chatting for almost 2 hours. Then I drove back to my town, went to my oldest daughter's apartment, and climbed in her car to go on a shopping trip with her. She had a gift card for a gift shop I hadn't been to in about 20 years and it was fun to revisit this wonderful store. We stopped to grab a cold drink and a croissant at *bucks and then I had to get home to do some chores. The next day (Sunday) was church at the 9 am and by the time I got out to go run an errand, it was getting very spring-like. It got up to 64 degrees and my bare feet were thrilled in the late afternoon sunshine. My sprained toe is almost fully healed so I ventured out for a brisk walk and walked for 1.9 miles before it started hurting. I'm thankful for sunny days and special times with family.

barefeet in March on a gorgeous day! |
- COFFEE: Never have I been more thankful this week for fresh, roasted coffee that I wake up to. The coffee maker begins at 5:30 when my alarm goes off and once I'm out of the shower, it's ready and waiting for me. I savor every drop. Teaching small children with special needs is exhausting. Physically, emotionally and mentally. I love that I can bring good coffee to work and sip at it throughout the commute. That and time in the Word helps me to perk up. I sometimes have a flavored coffee after work or dinner and no my sleep isn't disturbed at all. In fact, my doctor said if women drink 3-4 cups a day it's actually good for you! (remember when they said the opposite?? hahahah). There are 12 known health benefits from drinking coffee. (if you don't know what they are, click on the above link..my doctor only told me half of them!!).

- GAME NIGHT! Wednesday evening, Claire wanted to watch a movie with me but I had a lot to do for my small group, hiking group plus work. So I suggested a board game instead and she wanted to play the classic Parcheesi. She won. I'm so thankful for time spent with my youngest girl. (and we made plans to have a movie night sometime over the weekend or next week).

- WINTER WHITE: Our yards and roads have been muddy, brown and icky.....it was dry and cloudy all week......the 3 inches of snow we got at the end of February was all gone. And then mid-day Thursday we had a little wet snowstorm...the kind that makes for slippery driving but oh so pretty scenery. Heavy and white. Made my yard look pure again. I snapped a pic before breakfast yesterday and by the time I arrived home from work in the late afternoon, all the white stuff was gone. I'm thankful for God's creation no matter what season it is!
That wraps up my week. It's been crazy busy but this weekend promises to be more laid back. Whatever your plans are, I hope you find some beauty in your world. Let's keep praying for the people in Ukraine as well as for the Russian families too.
HAPPY WEEKEND!

Hi Faith. Great list of favorites this week. So glad to hear that things are going well and that you had some good times this past week. I learned something reading your post - I had no idea that coffee had so many health benefits. I hope you have a good weekend. See you again soon. :-)
I love take-out and movie nights at home. Saturday night my husband and I had pizza and watched a movie that was truly awful, but we had fun making snarky comments about it.
So glad you had a sunny, warm weekend! We've had springlike weather, but we're due for a winter storm this weekend. Thankfully it's supposed to warm up next week. Spring is always like that--back and forth before it settles in for good.
Sadly, my husband doesn't like games much, though he'll play sometimes if the family is here. I enjoy them a lot.
Your yard does look lovely and white and pure. We're going to get some of that 'winter white' tonight. Hopefully, it won't stick around too long.
We watch movies most evenings. Usually old ones. I'm not the movie buff but The Professor is.
Coffee in the morning wakes me up! I'll have to look at all those health benefits :)
Have a good weekend.
We enjoyed pizza night this week too and I should have added it to my Fave Five list! Love the pic of your bare feet and can't wait until we get a long run of spring weather too.
I'm a tea person myself and I love my first cup of tea in the morning the best. I'm glad your toe is nearly healed. For such a small part of the body toes can cause so much pain. The snow looks pretty but I hope your weather is better now and you can enjoy your weekend.
Love movie nights. Hubby and I are working our way through the Jurassic Park series in anticipation of the new one (the finale of the series) coming in June. I want to know what your Moroccan Food is. Looks delicious. I don't think we have a Moroccan restaurant here. Barefeet in March! How wonderful. It's going to be a lovely week here next week, all above zero. Hopefully it won't have horrendous wind with it. I love me a good cup of coffee or 4 every day. I have never played parcheesi. Looks fun.
Having a date night in is such a treat, and something I'm coming to prefer! As long as I don't have to cook, it's a treat for me.
Gosh, I haven't played Parcheesi since I was a kid! That was a fun game.
Can't wait for bare feet weather here:)
