LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL FAVES

Today our preschoolers with special needs had their last day of school for the official school year (even though they will all be back, minus one, for Summer School that begins on 5 July).  They were dismissed early (11 am) and we had to stay to clean the classroom, and move furniture into the hallways so our floors can get thoroughly mopped and waxed.

I'm officially off from tonight until the morning of July 5th (Tuesday) so I'm going to pause and list 5 of my fave blessings from this past week. I'm linking up at Susanne's site to join other bloggers in practicing gratitude.

FIVE FAVES

  • TOTAL CLEANING:  Last Saturday was a day for us to thoroughly clean the house......from top to bottom with vacuuming, dusting, laundry, bathrooms/shower/tub.  It felt good to get it all done even though yes I still had the raging sinus headache. I just pushed through and then sat outside for a few minutes after each chore to get fresh air.  I'm thankful my daughter helped a bit and that Dave and I could relax in the evening and finish up Peaky Blinders Season 1.

  • SCRIPTURE AND PRAYER:  I was so surprised and very, very touched to receive an email prayer from 2 bloggers I have never met:  Susanne, our host and Jerri from Jerralea's Journey. Jerri's was very powerful and Susanne's was as well, although in a slightly different way. This really made me pause and say "thank You, God" for godly, in the Spirit sisters in Christ.  And various Scriptures have ministered to me this week including the one above I read in a couple of different devotionals.  I've been discouraged about what could be going on in my body and waiting for my doctor to come back to give me clearer answers. I seem to be getting worse instead of better....if it's allergies, so far nothing is really working to get rid of the sinus headache.  I have a bit less facial pain though. I'm so thankful for people who encourage me, send me Scriptures, for His Word, for the prayers of caring people......and some from people I have never even met!
Claire (23), Courtney (28) and Dave
  • FATHER'S DAY! Sunday after church we picked up our oldest daughter from her apartment and took Dave out to dinner at the local Japanese restaurant for Hibachi.  The food, drinks, and service are top notch there.  We all had a great meal and time of laughter and talking.  Afterwards, Claire had things to do at home so Courtney joined us in a round of mini golf at the local golf and ice cream place.  It was a great day for Dave.  Later that day he opened his gift from Claire and I:  veggie kabob grilling skewers.

  • COOL NIGHTS:  We've had such gorgeous weather the last couple of week.  Still no central air is needed.  It's been in the 60s and 70s with sunshine and cool breezes and the evenings have been beautiful....love sleeping with the windows open letting in fresh air. Am thankful for good weather.

  • NEW PRIMARY DOC!  I've been searching for a new primary care provider. I like the bedside manner of my current one and she is an MD with a lot of knowledge. However, she is only in the local office one day a week and one Saturday a month. I was wanting someone more available.  I had the recommendation of a young friends, read some reviews, and called the office to see if they're taking new patients. They are!  I have a "meet and greet" type meeting with her on August 17th.  Hopefully whatever this allergy or sinusitis thing is will be completely gone well before then. I'm thankful for good reviews of doctors and for the chance to meet her before I transfer my records.

That wraps up my week.  I hope you have a relaxing weekend. We have a high school graduation dinner to attend Saturday evening and my aunt and uncle from VA are coming for Sunday dinner.

HAPPY WEEKEND and FIRST WEEKEND OF SUMMER!

Faith, I'm so sorry you're still having those sinus headaches! I have them occasionally but usually only for a day. You're on my prayer list. How precious to receive those email prayers! Blog friends are so lovely. I have a very good friend who I met through her blog when I lived in Florida. So, when I moved to TN in her area, we got together for lunch. That many lunches and a day trip ago! It's a great feeling to get things all clean. When I moved a few things around yesterday, I was frankly appalled at the dust bunnies I unearthed!

Hi Faith. Sorry to hear that you are still struggling with the headaches, but I am glad to hear that you found a new doctor and I hope she will help you. I will continue to pray for you. I hope you enjoy your time off. Having a break and some time to relax and get stuff done is always a good thing. Sounds like Dave had a nice Father's Day. I hope you find relief from the headaches. See you again soon.

It seems like, if the headaches were due to allergies, one of the allergy remedies would have worked by now. But then, what do I know. I hope you get some relief soon.

Glad you all had a great Father's Day! I hope the new doc works out well. I can't imagine keeping up a practice with so little availability as your old dr.

I also can't imagine being without the AC in summer. I have that on plus ceiling fans sometimes. We're in the 90s with humidity making it seem close to 100.

So thankful for a "word in season" from blog friends and God's Word. Enjoy your time off!

Hello. I am so sorry about the sinus issues. I hope and pray you are able to find some relief soon. What a wonderful feeling it must be to have your home cleaned top to bottom! I used to do that more often. As I have aged, not so much! Have a cozy weekend.

I'm glad you're on a break now and hope that your health improves. Maybe your new doctor will have some new ideas on how to treat the problem. Enjoy the weekend.

Happy Summer Break! I can remember that wonderful feeling of freedom.
Yay on getting the cleaning done. Come on over and clean my place :)
I am so sorry you are still having headache issues. Praying you will find the source of the problem and that there will be a quick fix.

I hope with the break and the chance for some good rest and relaxation it will help relieve your sinus pain. I am still praying God will give you total healing from the root cause of this.

Those are really neat veggie grillers! I love veggies done on the bbq. I need to do a good top to bottom cleaning. That's coming up for me on my time off. Enjoy your weekend with family!
