I've been doing a "Word of the Year" for quite a few years now. Here are all of the "Words of the Year" that I've meditated on:
STILL (2014)
LIBERTY (2015)
SIMPLIFY (2016)
TRUST (2017)
SAVOR (2018)
no word of the year for 2019....not sure why.....
THRIVE (2020)
BELIEVE (2021)
JOY (2022)
This year I was't sensing anything from God the last week of December like I have in the past. Not sensing any special words I mean. And then yesterday (the first day of the new calendar year), I felt like the Lord was telling me to dig into the Word. I started a devotional on the Bible app titled Fearless: Five Ways to Overcome Fear and then my cousin Trisha invited me to join her in a devo via the app titled The Fruit of the Spirit. Both are perfect timing for me. But the anecdote that really jumped out at me was from Day 1 of the Fearless devo...and it led me to hearing that still, small Voice whisper my word of the year.
"Faith is something you can choose to exercise a you engage in this battle against fear. Don't listen to the lie that you cannot defeat it. You only need a little amount if faith to move that mountain. Faith will grow as it feeds on the the truth of the Word of God. Faith can bring your hope into reality."
This is based on Hebrews 11: 1
And bam!
HOPE!!! I need to cultivate the hope of healing into my life...into my very frame.....there has got to be a root cause to these chronic, daily headaches and neck pain.......and while I wait for my primary doc to get back to me that she has sent the referral to the neurologist I want to see, I can only trust God to get me through each day and while my faith is being fed on His Truth..His Word.....I will have Hope!
