I'm participating in a "sunday stealing" meme. Not entirely sure who started this but I saw the questions on the blog I was directed to and these looked the most interesting. There were several categories to choose from. I guess it's intended to get a glimpse into a blogger's life or more info about them.
1. Name a TV series show or shows in which you have seen every episode at least twice: Friends.
2. Name a show or shows you can't or would not miss: The only television show I watch is Law and Order: SVU. Can't miss it.
3. Name an actor or actors that would make you more inclined to watch a show: Meryl Streep and Mariska Hargitay
4. Name an actor or actors who would make you less likely to watch a show: Rosie O'Connor
5. You're having a lovely dinner party for friends and family. What will you serve for appetizers, main course and dessert? Hm....We usually go for super casual and don't do appetizers unless it's just appetizers and drinks. I guess for appetizers I'd do fruit, cheese and crackers...a charcuterie board....dinner would be either a main dish like my famous Italian Soup or Slow cooked vegan Chili and Cornbread; dessert would be either one of my many brownie recipes or my famous Frozen Coffee Pie.
6. Snow storm! You've got house guests and you're all stuck inside for the night. What do you prepare for dinner. Will you watch a movie? Which? I'd probably prepare my Vegan Slow Cooked Sloppy Joes, bluecorn chips and salsa and Swedish Apple Pie. Yes, we could watch a movie (probably one of our classics ) but we'd more likely play a board game.
7. We are going into New York City for the weekend. Where do you want to go? BOSTON!! We can't stand NYC. (yes, I know...we are Capital Region NYers but honestly, can't stand NYC). If I HAD to go, we'd head to Lincoln Center for the NYCB or the Guggenheim.
8. You are going to night school. They offer courses in writing short stories, painting, piano or guitar lessons, simple home repairs, baking, and gardening. Which do you pick (or make up one of your own) and why? I'd probably choose one on retirement/finances. Because I don't know much about investing my funds.
9. Ever been to a Drive In Theater? Would you like to see Drive In Theaters make a come back? Of Course!! I grew up in a village that had a wonderful drive in movie theater not too far outside of town. They're making a comeback here in eastern NY....they have been strong for many years.
10. Should towns provide community entertainment like bands in the park, fireworks on the 4th, community picnics or is the cost just too much? Not sure where this blogger is from who formulated these questions, but here in New York State we already have villages, towns and cities who do this. We love it!
11. What would you change about your town if you had the power? We live in the suburbs of Albany so I'd put in sidewalks to make getting around minus a car much easier. And more bike paths near the major roads.
12. How often do you find yourself shopping for groceries? For large amounts, about 1x per week. For smaller things like fresh produce, a coupld times a week especially during Farmers Market season!
13. Do you have a favorite night time snack? We no longer eat night time snacks but if we do it's usually popcorn (Skinny Pop brand) while watching a movie. In the summer we sometimes go out for soft serve ice cream after dinner.
14, Do you buy in bulk and what kinds of tips do you have to save money on grocery shopping? I am SO NOT a buy in bulk kind of person. No storage space and the space I do have is mainly related to our outdoor/nature activities (camping gear, kayaking gear, cottage gear, hiking gear) TIPS: use the new apps for local grocery stores and use coupons!! I only shop sales for home decor and clothing.
15. Let's have a picnic in the park. What foods are we packing and will we cook anything there or is it all prepared ahead of time? I prep many things ahead of time like cold salads, baked goods, iced tea. We typically grill chicken or vegan or bison burgers and add all the fixings. We have a large cooler on wheels as well as several smaller ones when it's just the two of us. We also have a plethora of beach bags and picnic items we keep ready for spontaneous trips.
That's a peek into my life! What about you? If you want to play along, let me know in the comment section and I'll come by and read your post.
