AUTUMN QUESTIONS for HODGEPODGE

I'm participating in the Hodgepodge meme again because I really like these questions and I love October so.......click here to learn how to jump in!

1. Hey, it's October...what's one fun thing on your October calendar?

hiking! best time of year to hike in the mountains is now. No bugs, no high humidity, no crowds.

2. Thursday is National Poetry Day (first Thursday in October)...do you like to read poetry? If so, what's a favorite poem, or whose poetry do you especially enjoy?

I'm not a huge fan of poetry and honestly, never really was except briefly in my senior year of high school. I do read it from time to time. My fave poem from the last few years was by Amanda Gorman. The Hill We Climb. Superb. I'd love to meet her in person. She seems delightful.  I also love my oldest daughter's poetry. She was published in a children's poetry anthology when she was just in 3rd grade.

3. Tell us about something you've seen recently that could be described as 'poetry in motion'

watching our youngest daughter
perform en pointe
is like poetry in motion
this is her UNHBallet Co senior pic

4. What's one song on your autumn playlist? Do you have an autumn playlist? If not, pretend you do. If yes, then feel free to share more than one.  hahah who has time for seasonal playlists??  How about let's pretend: Vivaldi's Autumn from his Four Seasons of course. And probably the album Red by Taylor Swift as my daughters inform me that is her "autumn" album. I do like her music.

5. Share a quote that inspires you this time of year especially.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

She's the best puppy I've ever seen in a church!!

(this is my sister in law's dog (she's married to my husband's older brother) named Kyss.  Kyss is a Bernese Mt therapy dog and attend the First Church (Unitarian/Congregationalist) in south shore Boston with my mother in law, brother in law/sister in law. Dave and I visited them Sunday and it was a hoot to see this precious pup being so good in church.

What a fun meme!!  Do play along!

That's a beautiful picture of your daughter. En pointe is definitely poetry in motion. My girls both danced and I love the graceful movements in ballet. Enjoy your week!

Hi Faith. This was a fun post! That is a beautiful picture of your daughter. I don't read much poetry either, but Amanda Gorman is very talented. I really like Taylor Swift's music too - even more now that she has endorsed Kamala! I plan to play along and post answers sometime this afternoon or tonight. See you again soon!
