I'm a day late but yesterday I was out of town all day long!  I enjoyed these questions so am playing along! Kudos to this blog.....

Saturday 9: Love on Top (2011)

1) Beyonce sings that she and her lover have worked through a tough time and now they are happier than before. Do you agree with the lyrics that relationships take effort? Or do you think that if a couple is well-matched and their love is real, happiness will naturally follow? 

of course relationships take effort! But with Christ at the center it is possible to have joy in the marriage. It does take work.  Happiness is different from inner joy. You're not gonna be happy 100% of the time cause....we're human, we have faults, etc.  But happiness is elusive. Inner joy is attainable and lasting when you keep Christ in the center of your relationship. I speak from experience. 

2) She tells us that he's the one she can always call. But that was in 2011. If someone needed to get in touch with you today, would you recommend they call, send an instant message, or text? 

I prefer someone text me or call me. I don't have the messenger app on my phone and the only time I see messages via that platform, is if I'm logged into FB via my laptop. 

3) Beyonce goes through many costume changes in this video and in her concert performances. What are you wearing right now as you answer these questions, and will you change clothes throughout the day?

I literally just changed out of my long sleeved fringed denim dress and short tan boots into my hiking clothes: light hunter green joggers, and a bright orange wickaway short  sleeved hiking shirt. I'm also still wearing earrings and my fitbit and my rings. Feet are currently bare. And yes, after the hike this afternoon, I will probably change into my  denim shorts and a  long sleeved tee. 

4) The choreography in this video was inspired by Janet Jackson's videos in the 1990s. The Jackson family -- Janet, her brothers as solo artists and as The Jackson 5 -- have sold a staggering 750 million records. Can you think of another successful musical family?

The one that first comes to mind is the Van Trapp Family Singers (I met the grandson of Maria last summer when we were in Stowe, VT!) Another successful musical family is The Gaither Band although I don't really listen to them, my parents enjoyed their gospel muisc. 

5) Beyonce and husband Jay-Z have an impressive classic car collection, including a restored and customized 1959 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud II, reportedly worth $1,000,000. If you suddenly received a million, what would you splurge on? We want to hear about a gift you'd give yourself. (It doesn't have to take the whole $1,000,000.)

I would first gift a LOT of it to LOVE146 the organization that helps to rescue people from human trafficking. I would then spend the rest on a 2 bedroom camp in Wells, NY (Southern Adirondacks) on Lake Algonquin. 

6) Beyonce "loves to lather" and enjoys shampooing her hair. What's a simple, everyday thing that relaxes you?

My first morning cup of  coffee and time in the Scriptures and playing NYTimes Strands. It helps me ease into my day. Also, my morning yoga stretch of Salutation, Cat/Cow and Child's pose. 

7) In 2011, when "Love on Top" was popular, so were movie franchises. Sequels to Harry Potter, Transformers, Twilight, Kung Foo Panda, and Disney's Cars and Pirates of the Caribbean all topped the box office. What's your favorite movie series?

Hm..i dont' tend to watch Movie series but I guess I'd have to say either The Hunger Games or Harry Potter. 

8) Speaking of sequels, Stieg Larsson's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and two of its sequels (The Girl Who Played with Fire and the The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest) were on the NY Times list of fiction bestsellers for 2011. Have you read any of them?

We own all 3, we've read all 3 and now my youngest daughter has them to read. 

9) Random question -- Which of these items do you misplace most often: your cellphone, your keys or the TV remote? 

My cell phone!
