Sunday Stealin'

I'm participating in today's Sunday Stealing meme because I really enjoyed these questions. Head over here to join in!

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Eating a warm chocolate croissant with a grande vanilla latte from *bucks.

Which meal is your favorite: breakfast, lunch, or dinner?

probably  breakfast because it gives me energy for the bulk of the day

What do you do when you want to chill out after a long day?

I tend to read a good fiction book or watch a movie on either netflix, hulu or paramount +, or sit by the firepit with either a hot herbal tea or a glass of  chilled white wine or a cocktail like a Dark n Stormy...it really depends on what season we're in. Sometimes I just sit on the deck with a good book

How would you spend your ideal weekend?

A hearty breakfast, followed by a mountain hike or kayaking; followed by dinner out in one of our fave Adirondack Mountain restaurants, followed by sitting on a beach at one of our fave lakes with wine or cocktails;  Sunday would be church if we're home or brunch with friends followed by relaxing by a lake or sitting around a bonfire reading/talking, etc with dinner delivered. Or a road trip to Boston, Portsmouth NH or Portland Maine.

Do you listen to podcasts, or mostly just music? What’s your favorite podcast?

I mainly listen to music but I do like the weekly Wait Wait Don't Tell Me podcast...my husband and I  and listen to these when we're on a road trip or running errands around town.  It's a blast

Do you prefer to go to the movies or watch movies at home?

Well, we own many classics from the 1930s-1960s and we also have Apple Tv/Netflix, Hulu, Paramount +, Disney +, Amazon Prime, etc so we really don't spend the money that our local movie cinemas charge. Too pricey and honestly those movies end up at some point on a streaming service so.....

What was your favorite TV show growing up?

That's a hard one because my parents let us watch a lot of television in the evenings which I didn't allow my own daughters to do.  As a child I guess it was The Partridge Family. As a teen it was Happy Days or Laverne and Shirley.  As a college kid/young adult in my 20s it was Knots Landing. As a young married couple we loved Friends and The X Files.

What’s your favorite TV show now?

For the last 24 years, it's been Law and Order: SVU and basically the only tv I watch minus the first half hour of The Today Show now that I'm retired and can watch morning news.

How would you spend your birthday if money was no object?

in Paris with a meal on the top of the Eiffel Tower assuming that restaurant is still there.

What’s your favorite season? What do you love most about it?

As a hiker, I say "hiking season" which for me and my friends and the group I lead is mid-June through mid-November. But seriously, I'd have to say Early Autumn (mid-Sept through end of November). I love that the days are usually warm with sunshine and bright blue skies, I love the changing of the leaves here in the Northeast, I love the cooler temps at night to sleep with windows open; I love wearing my flannel over tee shirts and I love the mountain air in  Autumn.

Do you prefer camping or going to the beach?

Well we used to be a camping family until our oldest turned 16 and we sold our pop up camper. We've camped on the ocean, in state parks, in the mountains of NY, Maine, NH,  VT, and MA. Nowadays? I prefer a cottage at the beach, whether it's a lake beach or ocean beach.

Which phone app do you think you use the most?

Probably FB app or Duolingo app.

Would you instead cook, order delivery, or go out to eat?

We do all 3 often. We usually go out to eat  1-2 times a month depending on the season. I cook almost every evening though and every once in a while we order out.  We've cut down on delivery though as we do enjoy going out. So to answer the question: go out

How do you drink your coffee?

Black if it's cold brew; a drizzle of unsweetened almond milk and a tiny drop of maple syrup if it's my morning hot coffee. Sometimes I use honey vs maple syrup.

If you could have any animal as a pet, what would you choose?

A horse...a Palomino

Since I don't eat sweets anymore, I don't think about them often BUT the idea of a chocolate croissant made me swoon! hahaha!
