It's been awhile since I participated in the Saturday 9 meme. Plus I LOVE this song. I first heard it when I was a little girl.
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

Saturday 9: A Summer Song (1964)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) Are you enjoying winter? Or do you daydream about summer?
I don't mind winter but I much prefer summer. I'm already planning hiking events and day trips.
2) In this week's song, trees sway in the breeze. Is it windy where you are today?
No, there was a bitter wind earlier in the week but today is actually nice and just a tiny bit of a breeze. Bitter cold though.
3) There's rain outside their window. Have you more recently seen rain or snow?
We finally received some snow this past Sunday into Monday here in eastern New York State. Only 4 inches but it was gorgeous.
4) This week's artists are the duo Chad and Jeremy. As a teen, Chad Stuart was very versatile in the arts. While he enjoyed drawing, he showed real promise in music and won a scholarship to London's Central School of Speech and Drama. When you were a teenager, what were your best classes?
By "best" I'm assuming you mean the ones I did well in (grade wise): French, Musical Theatre, Music Theory I and II, Drama Literature, Voice Lab, Music History, Bible Literature (yes I went to a public school), English 11, Native American Culture (an elective for those of us seniors who didn't need to repeat American History) and Typing. Those were the courses I got the highest grades in.
5) Between 1965 and 1966, Chad and Jeremy played British pop stars on a variety of American TV shows, including The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Patty Duke Show, and Batman. Which of those series do you remember?
I remember when my parents got cable in 1974 when I was 14 and we would watch reruns of all of these shows. I rarely watched television growing up though as was too busy with youth group, piano practice, voice practice and being involved in the Drama clubs/chorus/all state concerts, etc. I also was outdoors almost all the time when not practicing.
6) While those TV appearances were good for the duo's record sales, they sowed the seeds of dissent between the friends. Jeremy Clyde realized he enjoyed acting far more than music and began threatening to leave the act. Chad finally got tired of dissuading him. Between Jeremy's dramatic aspirations and contract disputes, they broke up. Later they both admitted they regretted the split, but as Chad said, "we were just kids." Is there an old friend you've drifted away from but miss?
a friend that I miss is my friend from grade school, Lori. College, grad school, and life and distance have kept us apart and not in touch except for Facebook. And i really miss my college best guy friend Floyd. same reasons as above.
7) In 1964, when "A Summer Song" was popular, the #1 movie in the country was Mary Poppins. Have you seen it?
of course! we are all about musicals in our family. I've seen it multiple times!!
8) One of the biggest news stories of 1964 was Elizabeth Taylor's wedding to Richard Burton. The bride wore yellow, with yellow and white flowers in her hair. The groom wore a dark suit, red tie and yellow boutonniere. What did you wear last time you got dressed up?
Well I'm an East Coast gal from NYS. What do you think?? Black maxi dress, black pumps, silver hoop earrings, silver bracelet.
9) Random question: When you're in the backseat, do you wear a seatbelt?
I'm rarely in a backseat but yes of course. This state is full of idiotic drivers. I always wear a seat belt!!
Have a good Saturday, everyone!!

Hello Faithe! I enjoyed visiting with you today. I always wear a seat belt, like you, there are a lot of crazy drivers in Texas☺♥
I am impressed that you can remember which classes you got the best grades in. I don't even remember the grades I received in most of my college courses.
I don't remember watching too much television as a kid, mostly just the Saturday morning cartoons and a show or two in the evenings when the family all watched together.
All black? Yeah, you’re a New Yorker…
Hi Faith, I remember watching the I Love Lucy show and the Wonderful World of Disney when I was a child with my parents and grandparents. I love musical as did my parents. I have lived in So CA my whole life and don't know real cold weather. I like to wear black too. Stay warm!
I loved this song when I was a little girl! I thought it was so romantic. Re: your "best" classes -- did you find you got the best grades in the ones you enjoyed most?
You know, you impress me with all that do / get accomplished. I wish I had your energy, smiles.
