GRATEFUL: Day 12

Today 12 November, I am thankful for fun blogging memes like this one!  Head over here to meet the host!

1. What does patriotism mean to you?

having devotion to the country/nation one lives in

2. September-October-November...your favorite fall month? Tell us why. If you live in the southern hemisphere use these months but sub spring for the word fall.

I love Autumn. I love that it begins in mid-September and goes all the way to just a few days before Christmas. I love that here in eastern NY it is usually just as warm in Sept. as it is in August but less humidity. And the mountain lakes are usually still warm enough to swim in and all the tourists from out of state have left.

October is my absolute fave month to hike in the mountains because of the colors everywhere! It is also cooler so I can hike harder and longer trails/mountains without getting super sweaty, super dirty (unless it's been a rainy year which thankfully this autumn has not here in NYS) and that there are NO bugs!!

3. A song you love with the word thanks (or some form of that word)  in the title or lyrics?

This one:

4. November is National Peanut Butter Month. Are you a fan? What's the last peanut butter bite you had? Fill in the blank: peanut butter and _____________________ .

Oh, and you can't say jelly.

That's easy:  Peanut butter and bananas (my oldest daughter eats these often!).  Peanut Butter and potato chips (a treat my mother used to let us make for an  after school snack)

The last bite of peanut butter? I like it, don't eat it as much as I do almond or sunflower butter, but I think the last time I had PB and J was in a sandwich on rye bread at my last all day hike, about 2 weeks ago.

5. This week's gratitude question-What event from this past year are you most grateful for?

The vacation Dave and I had a chance to take in Albuquerque NM to visit our nephew Adam and do a lot of sightseeing and desert hiking.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Our Monday rain turned to a dusting of snow
pretty....but I'm so not ready!

I'll click on that song once I'm done commenting here. I forgot about peanut butter and banana. It is a delicious treat. Vacations are a wonderful thing to be grateful for. A dusting of snow, already! Take care.

Peanut butter and potato chips? Now that is one that completely new to me. I will have to give it a try. I think hiking in the fall in your neck of the woods would be magical!!

I love the sound of your hikes and no bugs is a big bonus.
Peanut Butter and potato chips sounds interesting, it's not something I've tried but I want to now.
Oh wow! That snow, you can keep it. I like snow but not until next month at least.
